“Similar to Launceston Design Centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

Really worth visiting to see the beautifully crafted furniture, if only we had the space for one or two pieces. Lots of smaller artworks, but why be stingy, get the wonderful furniture if you can afford it, and have the room. One of the best things I did in Launceston, apart from the Design Centre.

“Highly Recommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Probably the nicest gallery of this type we saw whilst in Tasmania. The furniture was absolutely beautiful and there were also some lovely Art-Deco pieces. Would definitely recommend stopping here if you are in the market for beautiful, quality furniture and art.

“Rude!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2012

Gallery has very beautifully design pieces, unfortunately the hosts were extremely rude - when looking at furniture with intent of buying was accused of stealing ideas. Am not a wood worker so hardly see how this could be remotely true. Was asked to leave shop when asked about the embossed plaque on piece. Extremely dissapointed - greatly offended!!!

“Tasmania's Finest Timber”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2010

1842 Gallery in Launceston makes the most amazing Tasmanian Huon Pine and Blackwood furniture in their own workshop in an historic warehouse building. Their craftspeople will take commissions to make exactly what you want. Not cheap, but absolutely beautiful!
