“Perfect for a night or two”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2014

Stayed here with a friend on the last leg of a 5 day road trip around South Australia and Victoria. Had the best nights sleep out of those 5 nights. Our room faced towards the ocean and towards jetty road.

We stayed on a thursday night and noise was not an issue.

room was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again

Room Tip: Face the beach or jetty road!

We stayed after a weary long drive. The staff were welcoming and very helpful about where to go for dinner. Parking was free and we were impressed with the value and even more impressed when we found continental breakfasts were included. When we entered room 100 on the tenth floor we were wowed by the view, it was a lovely place to relax with a drink on the balcony watching the sunset. Wish we could have stayed longer, very comfortable, modern and clean, I would have thought it deserves a higher star rating - good value for money, would love to go back.

Room Tip: recommend room 100 for a couple but as a light sleeper I did use my earplugs, however, no problems f...

We go here once a year for a date night. As the building is round, your view can be anything in 360 degrees from the sea to the hills and everything in between. The rooms (with a balcony) are simple but comfortable with a spa bath and the usual motel type features. We have always found it quiet, clean and with friendly, competent staff. There is free open air parking or under cover parking for a fee.
There are dozens of eateries within a 10 minute walk I would not bother with the breakfast which has a '1960s canteen' atmosphere and you get the feeling it a gesture that they would rather not make if they didn't have to.

Room Tip: If you want to have a sea view, ask for it. Otherwise it is fun to take a chance because all the vie...

This is an older property however this apartment on the 10th level with a view of Glenelg city line looks like the bathroom is reasonably new & is suited to wheelchair customers however the glass panel between the shower & toilet is perhaps a hinderance for transferring off your chair onto the toilet as you can't get your chair close enough on a 90 degree angle. It looks great but perhaps a shower curtain that folds back would give you more room & make transferring easier. A shower chair was available on request. The bed height was ok and there was enough room to move around.Value for money was good at $140 pn.including a continental bfast & car parking. The property is a short walk to the beach and plenty of eating spots close by.

Dear David, thank you for taking the time to review our property. Our access rooms are brand new and were built last year from the ground up. The rooms were designed with guidance from a disabled access consulting company. I apologise if there was some confusion regarding the glass panel between the shower and toilet. The glass panel folds back flat against the wall when not using the shower, so you can bring your wheelchair right up to the toilet.

Glenelg is a must see place if you’re in Adelaide, but it can be pretty pricey too. The Atlantic is a good budget option if money is a bit tight. I simply wanted a cheap place to stay for a couple of nights after doing some work in Adelaide and at $125 per night on one of the high floors; you can’t go past this place.

The staff were really friendly on arrival and there’s free onsite parking (another bonus). Once you get up to your room the real attraction is the view. I was in a room overlooking a park and the marina and it was just delightful. It’s hardly 5 star luxury but my room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The room was a decent enough size with a couple of little comfy chairs and a little table and chairs to eat at. There’s tea and coffee making facilities and a nice little selection of nibblies to purchase.

My bed was nice and comfy, the pillows were fine and the sheets were crisp and clean. The bathroom was also nice and clean and roomy enough. The TV was a decent quality and there was free Wi-Fi and also Foxtel.

Since you’re in Glenelg you have an amazing selection of cafes and restaurants so I just went out and grabbed some food to bring back to my room. There’s a club with a bottle shop right across the street too if you want to grab a cold one.

Overall my stay here was quite enjoyable. Sure, it’s a little tired and old looking now, but the friendly staff, the free parking, the great view and the excellent price make it a perfectly good place to stay.

The website does no reality to what you get. A night at 170 bucks with breaky was expensive given the room was tidy but noisy neighbours banging doors. The view is of the oaks tower opposite but so if you do stay here ring and confirm a marina view or similar high up.
My big complaint was the narrow tiny balcony only wide enough for a chair sideways with no table.
The revolving restaurant is closed for some reason but that could be a novelty
Overall better places like liberty towers for less money

Room Tip: Get high up marina view

This hotel is reasonably cheap, located in a good spot in glenelg. The rooms have been upgraded but arent much to write home about. they are nice enough. Beds were pretty ordinary, they arent any top of the line sleep master matress - thats for sure !

The worst part is quite a few ferals stay here and the room noise is so loud you here every door slam and every voice anywhere near your room. Other than this its quite servicable for the $. it is very old but its about right for what you pay for.

Room Tip: higher the better.
