To me, this is a charming old building with lots of character. I stayed in room 91 on the 9th floor. A few weeks before arriving I sent an email asking if my room could have a view of the marina, and my request was granted. The view was absolutely beautiful, and easily the establishment's best asset.
I was pleasantly surprised with the room. It was very spacious, and featured a large Samsung flat screen mounted on the wall, very comfortable bed and fresh looking linen. The bathroom was great - newly renovated, white, bright and well designed. The cylindrical design of the building make for interesting angles in the room - a really nice change from standard hotel room layouts.
Again, the view was AMAZING. from the ocean to the left, the park and marina in the middle, to the airport and even city on the right, the view was beautiful during the day and at night. The location is fantastic - close to shops, restaurants, beach and the tram. Another positive is the cleanliness. I stayed for three days, and the room was cleaned to a very high standard every time.
The one negative, (and this was quite a big negative for me), was the abrasive manner of the staff member at check in. A smile and some patience would make guests feel more at ease as opposed to glares and sighs. A different staff member was at the desk at check out and was lovely.
I loved my stay at this hotel, and if it weren't for check in, I would have easily given a rating of 5 based on value for money, cleanliness, location, and that view.
Ask for a marina view room! And try for as high up as possible =)

The views are definitely one of the motel’s best assets and we’re more than happy to accommodate specific views if available. I certainly think it’s nicer to stay down the bay than stay in the city when traveling to Adelaide, and with everything in Glenelg within walking distance, why not?
