“Top Night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

Where do i start ?Glenelg is full of restaurants so when my wife and i wanted to go somewhere special as we were celebrating our 25th anniversary we checked on the web and decided that we would give Cardone's a go.We come from the Barossa Valley so we didn't know what to expect. The staff were great, Nick the owner came over and said hello .We ordered oysters Bacon, Tomato & Worcestershire for entree and i knew right there the rest of the night would be great ,oysters were fantastic .Main meal Beef Eye Fillet, Black Tiger Prawns, caramelised onion, broccolini & Juniper Berry Jus .Wow! cooked to perfection the chef knows how to work the kitchen. Also had side dish a salad Roquette, Pear, Pancetta, Walnuts
& Grana Padano, a lovely mix of flavours. To top it all off desserts Affogato - Vanilla Bean Creme Anglaise, Biscotti, Espresso (Frangelico) also a Vanilla Bean Pannacotta,
Candied Blue Berries & Raspberry Coulis, magnificent! Once you taste the food you will agree the prices are more than fair because at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Thanks to Nick and crew for a great night you should all be proud of the service and quality of food. Dominic and Sue Carbone.

“Great spot for seafood in Glenelg”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

This restaurant was Jack's Fish Shack before the owner, Nick, decided to spruce up the decor and fine tune the menu. He is obviously passionate about great food and excellent customer service and while we've enjoyed it in the past, the new decor is much warmer and more elegant. There's also an outdoor (undercover) dining area for warmer days and nights.
My partner and I shared a Smoked Salmon Tart, Shallots, Leek, Roquette & Radicchio Salad for entree. It was a very generous size and really delicious. Nick, (who also gives great advice on his wine list), convinced us to have the ciabatta garlic bread and it was wonderful!
For mains I had the linguini with prawns, scallops, pippies, mussels, white fish in a Napoli sauce and it was exactly the way I wanted it to be; generous seafood, delicious sauce, homemade linguine and (apparently) Nick's father's homemade chilli flakes on the side. Delicious!
My partner had the beef eye fillet with black tiger prawns, caramelised onion, broccolini & juniper berry jus and it was also excellent.
We could easily have been tempted by some wonderful sounding freshly made desserts but we were so full from our shared entree and main that we couldn't fit one in.
There are a lot of restaurants to choose from in Glenelg but they can be hit and miss on either the food and service, however you can't go wrong with the select but varied menu and the personal care that Nick provides.
Tip: They accept the Entertainment Card.
