We like to consider ourselves Thai food aficionados - from a Westerner's perspective. Tanapa was average to very good in parts. Everything was edible, service was middle of the road. When you ring and make a booking and they ring you back to confirm - wouldn't you expect it to be written in their appointment book when you arrive? Luckily we were early and got a table but still, not a great way to start. Water was delivered to the table immediately - bottled tap - none of this up-selling - which suits us just fine. However, we did have our own wine with us which was obvious but had to request wine glasses when placing our order. They were very nice wine glasses, not the tiny cheap ones you normally get and for $8 corkage I was glad to see a wine cooler with ice was provided.
When the food arrived, the Money Bags were crispy but too many frozen peas and corn for my taste. No sign of the water chestnuts mentioned in the menu descriptor and very little chicken and prawn meat. The Curry Puffs were very bland and had a paste like texture, not the best we have ever had. To be honest the menu does state "mild" but this was almost tasteless. Mains were Pad Spicy chicken which was spicy and my OH loved; and BBQ Pork which we both thought was excellent. By the time we left, the place was full so obviously it is doing something right. We will return but will continue our search for the "Best"Thai in Adelaide.
