“Busy restaurant with good tapas ... a little pricey though”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2014

We have been to Tasca Viva a few times now, mainly for breakfast so we thought we would give dinner a try.

Service was excellent with a welcome smile you are quickly seated and drinks brought over to the table. They have Prancing Pony so i was very happy.

We enjoyed a few serves of tapas and were guided well by staff as to how much we would need to order. Of course we enjoyed croquettas, patats bravas and chorizo, and also enjoyed the pork belly and peppers. All of the servings were as expecetd and the food was very good (high standard by us here having enjoyed southern and northern Spain recently)

Ok so why the 4, simple the churros were a little disappointing. The flavour and chocolate sauce were fantastic, just the size when compared with other restaurants let them down. A great wow factor for a relatively cheap batter could of been achieved here, again big plates of churros in Spain may of hightened our expectations here.

We would return as there is always something interesting on the menu and the staff are great.

“Spontaneous drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014

My partner and I were walking past this establishment and felt the call for happy hour Sangria. The Sangria was smooth, full of flavour and not too much acidity. Looking at the menu and food being served we cannot wait to come back and try

“Great vibe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014

I visited this establishment on a Friday night and it had a great buzz about the place with dozens of diners packing the place out. In that respect it's a victim of its' own success as service was slow (but to be fair we were warned about that by the manager).
The menu is interesting and varied and the food was very tasty if a little on the pricy side for what was offered (we opted for a banquet style variety of dishes).
If you fancy something a little different you can do far worse than go here so I'd give it a go. Probably better mid week when they aren't so rushed.

“Tasty Tapas in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

My husband and I enjoyed lovely Tapas at Tasca Viva last Sunday afternoon. Enjoyed the tasty food and vibrant atmosphere on Moseley Square. The decadent chocolate dessert to share was delicious! And the service was very friendly too. A lovely way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. And it's in the Entertainment Book. Will come again!
