A group of family and friends met here for lunch and birthday celebrations. Unfortunately the table which we had booked was taken by another group, but after some waiting, the staff set up a table for us. The cafe itself is located in a lovely location surrounded by a few other little gift/art stores which adds to the atmosphere. It has all sorts of great little knick-knacks and treats for purchase. There is a lovely view of the mountains in the background and a grassy area for kids to run around.
Unfortunately the food was so overpriced and disappointing that even the beautiful scenery couldn't save the experience for us.
I paid nearly $18 for a very simple pie and 'gourmet' salad which was nothing more than an average pie with garden salad and dressing. My husband ordered their club 'cottage' sandwich which was basically a sandwich in thick bread with a very thick slick of turkey luncheon meat. Absolutely horrible!! Looking around at the table apart from the nachos which looked average nothing that anyone had ordered appeared particularly appetising. There is a large display cabinet of various chocolates which you can purchase and this definitely adds to the experience but even the chocolates are nothing out of the ordinary which is a shame. The service itself was ok but nothing to remember or want to come back for -this café obviously gets its customers coming for the atmosphere and view because the food was awful and completely overpriced!! Very disappointing experience!
