Our second stop on the road -Cairns-Perth. This place was dismal - like Mount Isa itself. I gave it a two rating because to be fair, Alice Springs took the prize for 'Worst Caravan Park on the Road'.
Pet friendly - no dodgy dogs around - in fact a very friendly little dog called Mike resides there - who was a fresh face for our dog whilst on the road.
Friendly enough staff - owners got a bad wrap from a lot of the 'locals' who live there - apparently the old owners were better.
Showers and kitchen were clean. There is a pool and play area for the kids if you're travelling with them.
Generally the people staying there are fairly decent.
First Caravan Park as you hit town and according to two German tourists, the best of all the Parks in town - so pickings are slim in the Isa.
Dirt everywhere - no grass - flys flys flys!!!!
No soap in the toilets.
You have to pay to use the BBQs
Kitchen facilities very limited - dangerous hot plate (gas) and NO FIRE BANKET or extinguisher which is a basic health and safety requirement I would have thought.
Kettles for boiling water looked so dodgy I didn't even bother with a morning cuppa before getting the hell out of there
SIX BUCKS to use a washing machine?!!
No power to charge phones / iPads
No TV room
So many people from Mount Isa actually live there so not much of a touristy/travellers haven.
Wouldn't recommend - however not much choice in Mount Isa. Dismal place.
