“Tepann Yaki”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

WOW! what an experience. Something my family and I have always wanted to do and we were not disappointed at all. We ordered number 2. on the menu and glad we did, as we were so hungry! The servings are small and it is a process but that is the fun of it. Our chef seemed to be a beginner but was still entertaining for us all! Especially the egg and of course the children loved the fire!! Food was tasty and very moreish. As previously mentioned the Sea Salt trick is just a great way to top off a great meal and a fun evening.

“Wonderful food, great chef, best food at Sea World”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

If you are staying at Sea World or just visiting the area this restaurant is a must do! The food is delicious and overall a wonderful fun night out especially if you enjoy Teppanyaki. We enjoyed a sashimi platter which was fresh and light. Even our five year old, who tried sashimi for the first time, said it was great. A terrific way to introduce your child to the wonderful world of Japanese cuisine. The service was attentive, friendly and timely. We have fond memories of this restaurant now and look forward to returning. I was blown away by our chef. His last trick with the salt, before departing, was truly unique! I won't spoil the surprise. You will just have to visit and see for yourself. Enjoy!

“The A La Carte Menu is Excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

I really do enjoy the a la carte menu here.

Some of the highlights would be the fresh sashimi, hatsuhana fish cakes, kaki fry oysters, salmon haniaki and the seafood kaisen ishykidon rice in hot stone bowl, and a very smooth green tea ice cream. I. have never had the teppanyaki here although it does look like fun.

The restaurant is relaxed and casual and great for families with kids as they have 6 pm special meal deals. From 6-7.15 pm you get a large influx of families (mostly tourists at the Seaworld Nara Resort) taking advantage of the daily specials and from 7.15 pm it's less busy and great for couples and business dinners.

The place is clean and the staff very courteous and attentive. The manager is an excellent ambassador for the restaurant. Hatsuhana has won many awards (Best Japanese and Best Asian Restaurant) over the years (particularly from 2003-2009 in it's golden period) and they are well deserved.

It is not the cheapest of menus but it is worth it. The restaurant is open Wed-Sun from 6-9 pm. My only gripe would be that the cups of green tea could be bigger.

“Teppanyaki @ Sea World Resort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

Ok so this is the 2nd time we came to have teppanyaki here. The first time was when our cousins took us here and we had a group of 12 on the one grill so i thought i'd bring the family in while we we're here on the GC. My one question is, where's the old chef? We came back for him and his hilarious but kind antics. I believe his name might've been Jose? We we're told by one of the floor staff that he had moved to another restaurant. It was quiet dissapointing as we were expecting him to be there as he said he normally works the nights they're open. He made an impact to my kids as he was so kind and spoke so well mannared to them that the kids would always ask my husband and myself "when are we going back to see chef Jose?".

The chef we had was average and a bit awkward? The chef Jose definately made us feel at home and was so good to our and my cousins kids. The food was nice and the other staff we're friendly with a smile always on they're face. I wish chef Jose had of been there as he was the reason i took my family back to teppanyaki because he made our night an absolute night to remember.

“Heavenly Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

We had dinner in this incredible restaurant as part of our stay at the Seaworld Resort and definitely were not disappointed.

The staff were fantastic, friendly and so wonderful with our children aged 4 and 6.
We decided not to do Teppenyaki as our children dont eat everything, but we ordered a delux family dinner special - the food was amazing, so delicious. The kids ate a lot more than we anticipated and our 6 year old is now a great fan of sushi.

We were disappointed we left eating in this restaurant till the last ngiht of our stay - had we known how great it was we would have eaten there earlier - the quality of food and price is so worth it in comparison to other resturants on the resort. Will definitely do Teppinyaki next time !!
