Seems to me that some reviewers are getting mixed up between the 3 GC ChiangMai locations ; I am writing about the stand alone - single storey building on GC H'way at Broadbeach which we visited 2 weeks ago. Also, it seems perverse to criticise an operation, in a tourist location, which is owned / managed and largely staffed by ethnic Thais as catering to tourists and not producing authentic Thai food. That commentary seems somewhat pompous to me having eaten in Thailand often enough to know good from ordinary.
On the evening we visited the restaurant was very busy. We were immediately struck by the outstanding ethnic decor and artifacts. Reception and wait staff were efficient and courteous.
The food was very good, servings were ample and delivered from the kitchen piping hot without undue delay. The bill for food (we indulged to excess), beer and wine was less than $40 pp...that is a very fair price.
ChiangMai Broadbeach is a really good middle-of-the -road operation.....some people may well rate it better than that and I wouldn't argue. Ours was an enjoyable experience.
