“Great Staff,Great Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2008

We stayed at Greenmount and were very impressed with the staff and the food is fantastic in the Restaurant. We highly recommend the food(&my partner is a CHEF!!). The Resort is a bit tired looking however it is kept very clean and comfortable. All staff are very friendly we even noted the Resort Manager on her daily walk abouts with her smile and friendly greeting to guests. We will always go back now

Really Greenmount, I appreciate that the hotel ( not sure how they can call themselves a resort) has been sold therefore no-one has spent money on it for a while but the general maintenance let alone decor was appalling. We had 3 days here just after Christmas. We actually left a day early due to the rain and the chance to get out of a very dingy room. Threadbare carpet, power points that didn't work, cracked mirror in the bathroom that doesn't have any ventilation and a shower that needed a bottle of exit mould and a good scrub. Don't expect to fit a dring over 600mls in the fridge - it won't fit and remember to wear shoes out on the balcony as I am still trying to work out what the black slime was off it that attached itself to my feet. Public areas are just o.k, location is pretty good but the street noise is average if you are on a lower floor. Definitely worth paying a little more for one of the many apartments in the Coolangatta/Rainbow Bay area.

Booked a Flight Centre sale package - $199 per person for return flights to Gold Coast from Sydney and 2 nights accom so thought it was a fantastic sale deal. NUH UH.

The accom was only worth the little amount we paid. The Greenmount Resort is the worst MOTEL i have ever walked through. I felt sick being there. It was dark, dirty and old, old, old. The hallways were like walking through a block of flats from the 70s.

We checked in, had a look at the room, and checked out. I couldnt even bring myself to use the bathroom. We risked having to sleep in the rental car and headed up to Surfers. Still shiver thinking about the Greenmount.

Stayed here for a conference. Conference facilities were ok for the size (approx 40 delegates). Shared a room with a colleague and specified two singles - instead got a double and a fold out couch. Went and asked to be moved but was told the fold out was fine. The room was nothing flash - bathroom fairly poor. Had a nice view from the balcony which was flooded most of the time. Front desk staff were generally unfriendly and unhelpful. On the plus side breakfast was most pleasant, and dinner was quite nice. The building is VERY dated and in need of renovation. There were a number of pools which were rarely used - probably given that the hotel is close to the beach. I couldn't recommend the place again unless you are on a budget - breakfast saved the place from a real trashing review.

From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort would have been high class when it was first built but from the floyer to the room the resort is very clean. Every day our room was made by giving us clean towels and the bed was made every day. The only thing they forgot to supply was tissues and a face washer. The pool area is tastefully decorated, could have more deck chairs & the spa area/roof top could be updated. The breakfast was great and plently of it. (Could not fit lunch in). The resort is in a
perfect location just a short walk into the shops and nightlife, so for a great weekend away I would recommend to stay here, or if you do not want to cook breakfast/Lunch/Dinner for a week I would recommend it also.

This hotel is very dated and the decor bought to mind a prison! It is a 70s hotel with lots of concrete on show, and the dirt on the floor of the lift was probably that old too! It wasn't all bad, the rooms were large with ceiling fan, air con and balcony. There is a 24 hour reception and the location is amazing. The hotel is right on the egde of the beach. This hotel is cheap, and you get what you pay for. It will be okay for backpackers or surfers who want the beach and not too bothered about luxury. I stayed one night before moving upto Surfers paradise, and i'm glad I wasn't there any longer!

My family and I thought it was great value for money at peak time. Hot buffet breakfast including fresh fruit, large rooms, great central location, on level 6 we had great views over tweed river, excellent helpful staff. Sure the hotel is a bit dated but overall it is a good family oriented hotel. My teenage kids loved it. I didn't have any problem parking and the room was serviced every day. I would definitely stay there again.
