“cheap steam train, duck feeding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

a nice place to walk around, feed the ducks, turtles, and eels. There is a restaurant there, and a playground. Good place for a picnic. Cheap steam train rides which the kids love.
I'm a local. Do this if you're in the area, it's a great day out for kids.

“Still recovering from the floods?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We were disappointed by our visit after hearing from friends that the Gardens are lovely. The large pond was very dirty with plastic bottles floating in it, and the Chinese Gardens were closed. We walked to the Japanese garden and were disappointed. Maybe they just need some time to recover after the floods...I'd wait a while before visiting again.

“Great way to see things all in one place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

Loved the fact they have 4 different buildings within the gardens which give you some history of the area. They are still fixing areas which were flooding early 2013

“A Walk in the Park”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

The gardens are a lovely way to spend an hour or so whiling away the time. Picnic facilities are available, as well as an on site cafe (Closed at the time of our visit, but due to re-open soon). There are a number of other attractions within the grounds, but they are still awaiting to be re-opened after floods earlier this year (2013).
