“Fantastic for rowers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

Dawson River holiday park is a fantastic spot about three hours north of Sydney, beautifully maintained and perfect for rowers wanting to train for a maratjon or regatta in complete safety.
On the approach to Taree from the freeway, the park has enjoyed a total make-over in about 12-15 years, after being taken over by two friendly, energetic, creative, former dairy farmers, Phil and Dianne Avery.
It started life as an amusement attraction and old style caravan park, then lost its way as the original owners grew too old to maintain it, until the arrival of Phil and Dianne.
Wow! what a transformation. We've been coming here for four years, including two stays in a 2-bedroom Riverview spa cabin, so far in 2013. Great new coffee shop!

Room Tip: On-site cabins and powered caravan sites need to be booked well in advance!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

This attractive, older style caravan park is right on the beautiful Dawson River, outside Taree. The managers are nice, the camp kitchen basic but adequate and the facilities clean. It is off the main highway, beside a bridge over the river. We were surprised at the amount of traffic noise over night, a problem easily overcome with the trusty earplugs. A welcome break from main highway. Great for fisherpeople! Ask for a site further from the bridge.
