“A good place to stop between Sydney and Brisbane”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

We were offered a renovated ground floor room or for a lesser amount and upstairs room. We chose the former and with a bonus drink at the bar before dinner the decision was a good one. The room was spacious for two people and the room with ensuite was well maintained. The restaurant was a surprise with a varied and interesting menu. The meals were well presented and prepared providing reasonable value the surprise being this was far better than the usual motel fare. We did not have breakfast in the motel but chose to leave early.
To approach the motel you have to take the old highway through the city as the bypass does not go into the city. The divergence is not far and is well worth while making the effort. There are a lot of renovated motels on the highway but this is well up to scratch

I had a one night stay at the Sanctuary Inn while travelling up to Northern NSW. The only hiccup was with the access card for the door not working. A trip back to reception and being issued a new card solved the problem. Our room was spacious, quiet and well fitted out. The bed was comfortable and allowed us a good nights rest. Each adult guest is given a voucher for a free drink which we enjoyed while dining in the "Lobby" restaurant on site. Service was excellent as was the food. This is not a budget motel by any means but if you don't mind paying for quality and service, this is the place for you.

Room Tip: We had a room on the eastern side towards the back and this helped reduce noise from the highway whi...

Recently refurbished family suite, which we only used as a couple. We were charged a corporate rate even though it was only for leisure, (I don't quite know why you are told what the full rate usually is, as I'm sure nobody ever would pay that rate). Apart from the pillows needing to be upgraded, we couldn't fault the room or service provided by staff on arrival or departure.

Stayed 3 nights recently on business and could not have picked a better place . After a very long flight it was nice to be checked in quickly with no hassles . With check in you receive a voucher for a complimentary beer if you eat in the Resteraunt. I had previous arrangements for dinners on my stay so did not eat there but the menu looks brilliant - although a bit pricey in parts - and look forward to eating there on my next visit. The room was great. Well appointed and spotless with very comfortable bed with crisp linen and good towels in the bathroom. Tv with foxtel and local channels is good when chilling out after a long day at work. There was a big crack going down the wall but as posted before after a long drought then big rains foundations may move causing this, but it did not take away from the quality of the room. Compliments also to the staff who were very helpful, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend and I will be back.

My partner and I stayed at the Best Western for one night a few weeks ago. We didn't spend much time there so I cannot comment on the facilities, restaurant etc, but we were very pleased with our room. We chose to pay a little extra (about $150) for a renovated room. The room had been tastefully renovated/decorated, and similar to accomodation in the city. Very comfortable bed and amazing bed sheets. The room was very clean and tidy, as was the bathroom (also well renovated). Quiet A/C. If I was staying longer (say a week), I would probably ask for a larger room but it was fine for our short trip.

Staff were very relaxed and friendly. I would be more than happy to stay here again.

Room Tip: Opt to stay in a renovated room. We stayed in Room 19, which did not front the busy street.

We went to Tamworth for medicl reasons, arrived after a long trip went to have a cup of tea and the milk had curdled in frig .no pillows on sofa bed or spare in room took till late at night to get some only with no pillow cases. shower water leaked out and insects got in through the window. How this won an award is beyond me! Never will i recomend this place for the price you pay i had the worst experience ever in a motel. shower had mould I could go on and on but wont be back.

Thank you for response, as this is a anonymous response, I have not been able to investigate your complaints as I cannot locate which guest room you stayed in. I apologise for the fresh milk being curdled, however our housekeeping staff, replenish milk on a daily basis, all our rooms are fully insect screened and we do also provide insect stray in the wardrobe. All pillows for the sofa bed are located in the top compartment of the wardrobe and are kept in this location for future use. We pride ourselves on cleanliness at the Sanctuary Inn and I do hope you are able to revisit again soon, should I be able to assist you, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

We had a long arduous trip to Tamworth for a family funeral and chose the Sanctuary Inn for its close proximity to the church. Thankyou for our clean cosy room, hot shower, scrumptious dinner and hot breakfast promptly served after a phone call to announce that it has left the kitchen. Above all - thankyou for your hospitality. Lesleigh and Fred
