We wanted to take the family to Port Macquarie (a quiet beachside town) for the Easter holidays. We found a good deal at the newly opened Macquarie Waters - and booked a 2 bedroom apartment with spa for 3 nights.
Our first impression of the apartment itself (located on level 4 of a 9 level building) was that it was very new and clean. The views from the apartment were satisfactory. We had partial sea views - our building was set back from the foreshore and behind other buildings.

The furnishings were modern and we particularly enjoyed the modern shower in the ensuite of the main bedroom. The covered terrace was great for outside dining and the sea breezes lovely. The kids enjoyed watching their DVDs on the DVD player.

Location was good. Walking distance to the main centre of town and beaches.

For completeness I will also add the things that were annoying. The corridor leading to the apartment was dimly lit and not well ventilated. No ramps for prams at the lobby entrance (however there was an electronic ramp for wheel chairs which did not seem to be in use – a towel was draped over it). The carpark seemed to be full most of the time. Fire alarm went off very late one night because a neighbour did not open their windows while cooking. Very sensitive smoke alarms so open all the windows up if you plan to cook!

Overall though a good place to stay. Great for families.
