“GREAT VALUE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

Being the first of many over two months, we found The Beachcomber to be clean, well placed for the beach, shops and local clubs. We had a two bedroom apartment, , large kitchen and fully self-contained, and on the ground floor close to the pool too.
There is secure parking available and the resort met all our needs and more if we needed.

The trouble with our stay started with making the booking. We had purchased vouchers through a promotion company and the management at beachcomber were very unhelpfull and I got the impression they didn't even want to take our booking. Our booking was for ourselves, a family with 5 small children, and 4 other families. Due to the size of our family we were told we had to have 2 rooms meaning my wife and I would be sleeping in seperate rooms with a couple of children each. When we got there we discovered that they had stuffed up our booking and had each of our rooms in different blocks. luckily for us we were able to swap a room with one of our friends, but were still left with rooms on differnt floors. The rooms themselves were quite worn. The shower head was loose in one room while in another room, there was slats missing on the vertical blinds allowing light in early in the morning and waking the kids. All in all we were very disappointed and wont be staying there again.

We have stayed in a studio at Beachcomber Resort, twice, and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and had everything we needed to self cater. My husband and I found the area to be quiet but decided that it is best to stay on the top floor as the scraping of the chairs on the floor of the apartment above was noisy.

Thank you to Paul and Jenny at the Beachcomber we had a brilliant stay with you and would certainly have no hesitation in recommending your resort. May we also congratulate your friendly cleaning staff. The apartment we stayed in was spotless. Great view of Town Beach and it was only a 5 minute walk into town. The kids loved it.

After going to beachcomber resort at port Macquarie for over 11 years I've seen it grow. With the previous managers mick and Jude the service was fantastic there friendly atmosphere brought it to be an outstanding resort. The current management is crap! Frankly. I met her only over the phone and her name is Jenny. I never saw them being friendly or giving beachcomber the atmosphere it was once renouned for!! After 11 years on our annual holiday we will not return. Unless the resort is brought back to the cleanlyness which it once had! Mould shouldn't be in the shower neither on the floor! This never happened before!

Firstly, after a really bad experience at another hotel we were met with open arms literally. The management/owners exceed all expectations! They were so very helpful and friendly. The hotel has great basic facilities all you need for being so close to beach and shops. The hotel has been well maintained and the room was exactly as described. Clean, comfortable and cosy. It's self contained and it has an air con with reverse cycle, the best thing ever! The bed was really good to sleep in and so were the couches. Quite a nice view too. We stayed one night but we wish we had stayed more. The kitchen was well stocked, fantastic shower and heated towel rack a little treasure. We had a really good time there and can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: Try get room with a view, it's an awesome sunset to see

Big comfy apartment, nice for our family. Two bedrooms with good beds, large kitchen with big fridge, stove, microwave and kitchen island, large living room with sofa and new TV. No black-out curtains/windows, so we woke up early due to the bright sunlight.

Close to beach and children's playground, but not as close to the town centre (12 minute walk or drive). Secure underground parking garage at the back. No elevator. Pool looked much better in pictures but in real life was small and unappealing.
