I am a PMQ local and I will never eat at the Blank Canvas again. Upon approaching the counter to order, a little boy no older than 10 years old stood patiently for no less than 5 minsutes, before his mother came in to tell him not to worry, she would purcahse him a drink elsewhere. The waitress made no attempt to apologise to the little boy, nor to his mother, who was less than impressed. I ordered breakfast and coffee. My two year old was served cold toast with a "blob" of poor quality butter. as a side dish, with no cutlery!!!??? We were seated outside and when I asked the waitress for a knife to butter the cold toast, she told me " you can go inside and get one of the buffet...if you want one!" So, I then had to pick up my two year old, place all of our things back in the pram, push the pram inside, collect a knife and go back outside. I did not go out to pay for a meal to have to collect cutlery, napkins etc myself, I can cater for myself at home for free! The service was appalling, the watiress' were quite happy to conduct a covnersation amongst themselves, however were not able to engage in any conversation with customers on any level. Their attire was untidy and there are some issues regarding hygiene and hair that require addressing. If I was the manager, I would be taking all of my staff out to The Whalebone Wharf or Flavors at Lighhouse, and give them a lesson in what a dining out experience should be, quality food, service and atmosphere. Good Luck with that!!!!
