“Excellent all round and wonderful friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014 via mobile

Stayed in the loft villa for one night with my husband and 2 year old. Marie was so lovely and welcoming as was her friendly dog. The villa was wonderful and full of small touches adding to the overall comfort. My little boy loved the pool, chooks and never ending grass to run on. Marie's breakfast is fantastic too - the perfect way to end a great night. Highly recommend it and will definitely be visiting again.

You three were such a pleasure to have here at Elfin Hill. It is very rewarding for us to see guests enjoying this property as much as we do. Makes it all worthwhile. Please return soon and make sure you bring that adorable child of yours! Thank you.

I have stayed at Elfin Hill twice now with my partner and was incredibly happy with the way we were welcomed and looked after. The vibe of the place is very relaxing and refreshing and peaceful. I have stayed in the separate cottage and also one of the cabins and both were extremely clean, comfortable and cozy and in great condition.
The view is incredible and exactly what I would want to wake up to and go to sleep to, and also combines very well with the amazingly fresh food on the large veranda area in front of the common room.
If I ever stay in the Hunter Valley I will always be staying here.

Our stay at this beautiful B&B was absolutely amazing. The lush escape of the astoundingly green property, combined with Marie's amazingly nurturing nature, made for a very relaxing and memorable two nights. The view from the loft was absolutely amazing, and the morning breakfast was always scrumptiously delicious! I have recommended this beautiful B&B to many of my friends and family, and would highly recommend it for anyone wanting a natural escape in the vineyards of the Hunter Valley.

Room Tip: The loft at Elfin Hill is very quaint and beautiful, and is relatively secluded from the other visit...

We spent a very enjoyable 2 nights at Elfin Hill. Marie the host is just delightful, so welcoming - a refreshing change to some other B & B establishments we've stayed at! (keep it up Marie!) It was a very tranquil location but only a short distance from the wineries we were keen to visit. Our room was the Riesling and was very comfortable. We also used the barbeque and kitchen facilities - the kitchen is fabulous and Elfin Hill is ideal for a few couples who want to holiday together, do the wineries by day and then do a cook-up by night and enjoy sampling their purchases. We popped into Cessnock (10 minutes away) and bought a few provisions for cooking but Marie has all the essentials on hand. We highly recommend Elfin Hill and its lovely host!

Room Tip: We had the Riesling room, located towards the front of the property.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights.
The first room next to the road was a little noisy I needed to wear earplugs.
I think the rooms and the cottage near the communal rooms and pool could be noisy with people using the facilities late at night. We returned to the motel after 1 am on Saturday night and we could hear people talking, who were in the communal area, when we were in the motel car park.
Extremely clean and the beds were extremely comfortable and the sheets very nice.
The usual negatives when staying in hotels, bed and breakfasts and motels;
Lighting inadequate for reading and applying makeup.
The timber venetians did not keep the early morning light at bay, would be good if there were curtains also for people who want to sleep in. I slept with my eye mask.
Nowhere to put two suitcases
No wardrobe, only a rack with railings and hooks for hanging clothes in the corner of the room which was difficult to access and reach.
Two bedside tables each with two drawers.
No telephone in our room.
Concrete floor with a rug under the coffee table so take slippers.
The water was hot and the pressure good but you need to run the hot water a long time before it becomes hot.The breakfast was excellent, we opted for the continental that is included in the price. Fresh fruit, yoghurt and honey, cereal, toast or croissants and plunger coffee or tea.
We ate at Blaxlands Inn and I would not recommend the steak, at $35, because it was very tough. My husband had the beef pie which looked very good and he said it was very nice but extremely filling so you need a big appetite or someone to share it with.

Room Tip: Best to request rooms iaway from the noise of the road and the communal area. Note the office is lo...

Stayed at Elfin Hill Motel for 4 nights in the Hunter Valley with a group of friends. Marvellous quiet location, nothing to be seen but gums, pasture, garden; extremely relaxing. Frogs sang to us every night. The units are simple, catering for a reasonable variety of travellers. We had the family room with twin beds as well as a large Queen bed. Friends had double rooms. There is also an apartment with its own kitchen. Rooms are comfortable and have all you need and good sized bathrooms. A great asset is the communal lounge room with a large verandah. We watched the Melbourne Cup on the big TV in the lounge and convened for drinks each night on the verandah.
A very generous continental breakfast [with homemade marmalade to die for] is provided, either in the rooms or on the verandah. Marie, the friendly owner, allows guests to use the kitchen adjoining the lounge if they want to assemble snacks or even dinners. There is a barbecue area as well. The pool is much liked by younger guests.
Altogether a splendid base for staying in the Hunter Valley.
