Ignore the vegetarian bit and this is still a very good Asian influenced restaurant.
They have a good range of green and black teas and herbal infusions along with the usual carbonated drinks.
I had no trouble finding something from the extensive entrée list and ended up with a couple of favourites – deep fried mushrooms and vegetable samosas . The mushrooms were still firm in a nicely flavoured batter. The samosas were crisp with well flavoured filling.
For mains I decided to steer past the bean curd after a bad experience with fermented bean curd in China a few years ago. I also saw no need to go with the various protein substitutes and just went with braised eggplant on a sizzling hotplate. This were nicely done in a light soy sauce.
They forgot my rice and the décor and atmosphere were a bit ‘’90s’ country town Chinese, which for me dropped them from 5-star to 4-star.
If you’re not a vegetarian (like me) that’s no reason to avoid Bodhi Garden,
