I'll get the good stuff out of the way first: the apartment was of decent size and the location is good -across the road from a very nice pub and a shopping center.
We arrived at about 3:15 in the afternoon. This was 15 minutes after our ETA and 1hr 15mins after the time we'd been advised was earliest check in.
Our room hadn't been cleaned from the people before! Sheets and towels on the floor, a dirty diaper on the balcony and the bed- we requested two single beds and the split King was still made up as a double. The previous people had stolen the batteries out of the air-con remote so we couldn't turn it on, as it was very hot, and we couldn't do as we planned and immediatly jump in the pool as all of the towels in the apartment were dirty and/or wet.
When we went downstairs to inform them we didn't get an apology, just an excuse ("We're very busy this weekend!") However he was polite and sent the cleaner over straight away.
The cleaner, when they came, didn't knock, just unlocked the door and walked in. Luckily we had finished changing into our swimmers! We requested clean towels, went swimming and left her to clean the room, assuming that it would be done properly.
The pool is very small- the pictures on the website are taken from a misleading angle to hide the fact that it is outdoors, tiny and has no seating or places to put your towels.
The pool had a lot of dirt/sand in one corner, and a couple of loose tiles.
There is nowhere to hang wet clothes/towels.
The cleaner left, and we went up to our room only to find it was still dirty! The floors hadn't been swept or mopped, the spa in the bathroom was dirty, there was an inch thick layer of dust on the alarm clock between the two beds, there were fingerprints on the mirror, the mantelpiece/mirror edging directly above my hand when I lay down was black with dirt- so much so that I ended up switching my pillow down the other end of the bed to avoid dust and debris falling on me. The stove-top hadn't been cleaned and was encrusted with cheese.
When we went to sleep that night we realised there was sand/grit of some kind in the sheets!
Also the exterior lights are on all night, and our room had plastic blinds and no curtains, which meant our bedroom was lit up like it was daylight. Eventually, unable to sleep, we found a spare quilt in the cupboard and hooked it over the curtain rod to block out the light.
All in all, not worth the price we paid for it! Nothing like the 4 star rating it has on wotif!
Perhaps they should consider hiring more than one cleaner so that they can clean the rooms properly in the 5 hours they would have had between whoever checkout out at 10am and us arriving at 3!
I would only consider staying here again if I was guaranteed an immaculately cleaned room- the apartments would have been nice if not for the filth and the lack of curtains.
There is a lot of parking, but all the spaces are extremely narrow and hard to get into so if you have a large car the parking will do you no good!

We would like to apologise on behalf of the housekeeping department that your apartment was not ready for you upon arrival. Often guests leave the apartments extremely dirty and on this occasion the outgoing guest did just that. This has a ripple effect, as the time to clean an apartment in this state becomes exponential. Our housekeeping department endeavoured to clean the apartment for you as quickly as possible.
Our housekeeping department is more than happy to resolve any housekeeping concerns as soon as they are brought to our attention. The property has been independently rated as a four star self catering apartment complex whereby the cleanliness is a major component of the star rating process.
Our swimming pool is brand new and located between two buildings which significantly reduces the impact of the weather in this area. The swimming pool incorporates an outdoor gas heated spa and three water features. The architect designed the swimming pool to be as large as possible within the area between the two buildings.
At night the swimming pool area is well lit for the safety of our guests. We have ordered wooden shutters for the apartments around the pool area. This will significantly reduce light coming into the apartments at night when sleeping on the sofa bed.
The parking at the complex is not marked as we recognise that guests have varying sizes of motor cars, from a Volkswagen Golf to a large Holden Statesman this allows the property to accommodate all types of motor vehicles small and large on-site.
