“Just like the food in Saigon.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

Great food, excellent service and the price is right too an entree and main will set you back around $20.

I really love the pho but everything here is really really tasty the fried rice is amazing up with the best I've ever had, Byo alcohol is good too.

Be sure to bring cash because that's the only way you can pay.

Enjoy.

“Finally found some decent Vietnamese in Newcasstle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

FINALLY!! I had the beef and beef ball Pho... It was excellent and plentiful of meat and noodles.
This restaurant is not the 'westernised' type of Vietnamese restaurant... Well priced meals... Other meals I saw people eating looked very nice... I will definitely return for more

“You can't go wrong!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013

We turned up without a booking on a warm Monday night not expecting it to be terribly busy. Right away we were to be proved wrong. There were only 2 tables left and a queue ordering and then waiting for takeaways.
We were shown a table fairly quickly but told that there would be a wait as they were busy. We weren't in a hurry so we accepted the wait time. Our order was taken, water presented, table set and wine glasses produced rather promptly. We sat back anticipating our wait whilst we enjoyed our byo wine.
After almost no time our meals began coming out, the waitress again apologising for the wait. Wait, what wait?
Oh and how good were the dishes!!! The Vietnamese pancake was authentic and was a taste delight. The quail was cooked perfectly and the accompanying sauce was wonderful.
The mains were decently sized and neither tasted like the other. The ingredients were fresh, the chilli felt, and the meats tender. The beef tamarind salad being the standout.
Considering that it was busy and there was only one waitress the service remains faultless. If only more restaurants and cafés had such professional and hard working staff!
I highly recommend Saigon Feast.

“Excellent Value. Fresh food. Cafe atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

This Vietnamese café was a great find. Only opened in 2013.
I've been to Saigon Feast 3 times now. Excellent inexpensive meals.
Note - they take cash only - no credit cards.
Extra value - because you can BYO.
Café atmosphere - great for a quick meal before a show.
Very friendly service.
Located in Hunter St, a block or two West of the Darby St Intersection - so handy to eat before a show in town.
Recommend booking - especially week-ends.
I think I'll be a regular here.
