I recently went to Asa Don for dinner with friends. I had been trying to get in for a while but the kitchen closes quite early (8pm I think) and I never seemed to make it. It was definitely worth the wait though. It's a small restaurant with a cute outdoor area, the atmosphere is very pleasant & not too noisy. Our waitress was very friendly & it's BYO (corkage a very reasonable $3 per bottle I think). We had an absolute feast, sharing starters edamame, pork gyozas, pickled cucumbers & chicken kara-age (delicious fried chicken). We all enjoyed our mains, I got the special which was ramen in a spicy broth. I don't think Ive had more authentic home style Japanese outside of Japan & it cost less than $30 each including our drinks.
