This was my best restaurant experience in Newcastle in a long time. Well done. A great meal. Great wine and very helpful staff.

“Fabulous food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

Had 2 tables for a work dinner. Everyone was impressed with the food. I had the pork belly and head, truffle salami and figs. Would recommend, had good crispy crackle and meat just fell apart. I am still not sure that the figs and raw onion on the plate complimented the dish, unusual combination. Most people had the lamb and I didn't see anything left on anyone's plate, all excellent reports. Dessert plates were all clean and again excellent reports. Service was good when we could get it. The girls were rushed off their feet. More water needed on tables. All in all a very relaxed casual dining experience with good fresh food.

Cute cafe situated in the Newcastle Museum, perfect for a light lunch. Friendly service and lovely salads.

“Awesome!!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013 via mobile

6:45 booking, the weather was great and they sat us near the floor to ceiling opening windows. My wife had a great view of the park whilst I had an awesome view of the kitchen (loved it). Had the goat and long penne for entree to share. Spectacular!! For mains we had the salmon and the pork belly and head! Wonderful food and still hot!! Caramel fritters for dessert were a let down but the cheesecake superb!! Great wine list and tasty mocktails! Wonderful smell off freshly baked bread greets you at the door along with kind waitstaff. Service could have been a tiny bit faster but the knowledge and personality very muchly made up for it and besides 3 courses in 1hr and 45 mins not bad!! Highly recommend!!!!

“Very good but poor service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

We had a 8pm booking and when we arrived our table was not ready- I do no mind waiting for a table on a busy night but there were several unset tables at this stage. Once shown to the table we ordered wine and it was forgotten. Not a very good start to dinner. Thank goodness the food made up for the very average service that we hardly received though out the evening. Generous size meals full of flavour. Thank to you the chefs for his talent in the kitchen. We didn't stick around to sample dessert, the sound of cutlery being polished right beside our table (which started half way through our mains) final got the best of me. I would really like to dine here again, I just hope the service has improved.
