“A treasure in Newcastle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Newcastle B&B
We were warmly greeted by Sue and Phil into their delightful spotless home
Our room had an ensuite centrally located to the guest lounge and outside verandah area where we enjoyed a few wines with our gracious hosts
The location is fab a short walk to the Wests club where you are spoilt for choice with great restaurants or you can walk to a couple of the local pubs
Our room was very comfortable the bed also very very comfy
Breakfast was scrumptious I enjoyed the ricotta pancakes and Phil had the corn fritters both highly recommended
If you are travelling to Newcastle for a short stay or for a few nights I would certainly suggest
visiting Sue & Phil at their wonderful establishment

Highly recommend a stay at this delightful, uplifting and stylish B&B. Lovely atmosphere, wonderful welcome, divine food, comfortable and beautiful rooms with a mix of modern and old world charm. And a touch of comfort and nurturing wherever you turn ! Peaceful garden surrounds, a place to relax and rejuvenate. And the breakfast is just incredible ... delicious, bountiful and healthy ...set on white linen with a garden view. Gourmet standard food and silver teapots serving leaf tea make breakfast an "occasion". With Lizottes music venue a short walk away ...it's a great place to combine great music with pure relaxation. Warm lights in every room welcome you home at night. They mirror the warm welcome from Sue & Phil - the gracious hosts of this outstanding B&B - who are respectful, caring and professional ... with a great sense of fun and humour as well ! Sue is the queen of the "thoughtful touch" - and you feel pampered and relaxed in a very short space of time. Enjoy your own space .. for business or leisure, it's the perfect choice. I'm returning soon for my fifth visit - as this fine establishment calls you back time after time. A home away from home ... with the personal, luxury touch !

Sue was amazing, very welcoming and makes the most stunning breakfasts which include fresh eggs from the chickens in the back garden . The house is gorgeous and it's a quick drive to the beach. I highly recommend staying here it's very good value for money. The rooms are very comfortable an the living area leads out on to decking at the back of the house where there are views of the lovely garden. We had a fantastic stay here an will be coming back.

No words could describe the atmosphere the owners have created at this stunning home away from home! there was never a dull or awkward moment and the amount of effort and passion put into every persons stay is unbeleivable! it was the most wonderful experience my partner and i have ever had and we will be sure to stay there again :) once again thankyou and i seriously recommend everyone stay there it should become a tourist attraction for australia :) and the breakfast was to die for better than masterchef quality and we left with full stomachs and more than our moneys worth.

I stayed here overnight with a short notice. Sue has been so prompt in responding to my inquiries and been helpful when catering to my requirements. She even made a welcome note at the front door when I arrived, I'm so flattered! She then showed me my room and around the house. Everything's organised. My room was in an immaculate condition with even fresh flowers everywhere. Then came breakfast we got superior service with yummy foods on our plates. Best value or money. You'll be paying more for the breakfast you get if you do it outside, without personal touch.
Definitely coming back and would recommend to everyone.

I spent 12 nights here in the Jacaranda room and it truly was a home from home. I've stayed in some very smart hotels and this B&B is up there with them - in fact the breakfasts were probably the best I've had anywhere. The ricotta pancakes with honeycomb butter were delicious, and the corn fritters with soft poached egg equally good. Just a 'simple' fruit salad was a work of art and everything dished up would have looked at home on the pages of a glossy magazine. Sue is a great cook.

Sue and Phil have amazing attention to detail and are friendly and helpful without ever being intrusive. The whole place is spotlessly clean and a lot of thought had been put into making sure the rooms were comprehensively equipped with everything the traveller might need. Freshly cut roses filled the room with a lovely perfume and there was iced water to drink and chocolates and fruit left for me each day.

I can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else when I come back to Newcastle!

Room Tip: Room 1 is en suite, rooms 2 and 3 share a bathroom.

Sue & Phil run a great B&B. Set in a quite part of Newcastle, but not far away from the city center this is a great place to stay. The guys are very helpful and take pride in the way they run their business. Awesome breakfast and plenty of it :) Lots of room to park the cars and restaurants only a stone throw away. Highly recommend staying at this B&B.
