“Enjoyable Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

I was give my nights stay at the Madison Spa as a present for my 21st Birthday so i had no expectation of what I was arriving to as it was a complete surprise.
On arrival we went into the main building into reception, it seemed in a little bit of chaos! The gentleman that checked us in seemed very stressed and couldn’t find any of the information he needed to give us with regards to booking evening meals or spa treatments.
We were staying in the presidential suite it was on the 1st floor, it was on the end row of rooms and was fairly near the road. You could hear the trucks going past on the road however when you had the television on and were lying in bed you didn’t notice the noise and it didn’t affect our sleep.
The room was certainly large and really had a grand feel to it!! The spa bath was amazing, although make sure you take your own products for the bath, I feel $6 for one small bath bomb is a little excessive especially due to the cost of the room.
The decor was nice but I feel with a few small touches they really could have made it really special. It was a really nice feature to have a full bar in the bedroom and the view of the bush from the large windows in the bedroom. I would recommend upgrading to the cooked breakfast which we did as the continental breakfast didn’t look very appetising, there was hardly any fruit out and the fruit that was there looked dried out.
The location of hotel is excellent; it’s very close to Echuca and easy to get into at night for a meal.
I would also be aware that when you book one of the packages it may seem a good option at the time but just be aware it may not be as it seems and it may be more worthwhile just booking room only and then making your decision upon arrival. Be aware I would not pay the full rate for this room at any stretch.
I did really enjoy my here although I do feel that there are lots of little things that could be done to make this resort really special! I feel they are too focused on getting your money off you for all the little things rather than providing a truly special experience.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 1st floor have nice views.

We stayed at the Madison Spa Resort in Moama in November, 2012, and were disappointed with our overall experience. The accommodation was OK, but he restaurant meals were terrible. We hired bikes to tour Echuca and surrounds, and the bikes were in very poor repair.

Thank you for your comments, we have since given our bikes some TLC and they are much happier. I'm sorry that you felt that way about our meals and I am a little surprised as we are endlessly receiving compliments to our Chef. I hope the Service and our other Facilities were up to your expectations.

I'm a return guest to Madison Spa. We booked last minute and was invited to take up their special for $199 per night instead of $335 per night for their best room (i forget what it was called)
Staff are perfectly lovely from booking, check in to check out.
I have to say I would NEVER pay $335 for the room we got. It was perfectly comfortable but it was not a luxury $335 experience. In comparing prices with other Moama hotels with the same rating, we thought $199 for a Saturday night was reasonable.
View into the bushland is lovely
Yes, it is on a busy road however we did not hear any noise and sleep was not disturbed in any way.
Given the time of year, we didn't utilise pool or spa area so have no comment.
Also didn't access any spa treatments so can't comment on those either although 4 years ago when I was last there spa treatments and staff were great.
I have one big problem with our room though... why on earth is there a mirror above the bed in a 4 star "resort" at $335 regular price per night? It was bizarre. Also no way of covering it up! Sure if you're the kind of person who loves to try and sleep staring up at themselves, great. But we aren't and also because we couldn't get the room temp right, spent most of the night pulling the bed sheet off, only to look up in shock at my naked self staring back at me and pulling the sheet back up again! For the record, we're not prudes and we also know what the point of a mirror above the bed is ;) we would just have preferred not to have to stare at ourselves all night.
The in room spa was nice but seriously for the price, get one of the normal bush view spa rooms and don't pay extra for the suite or whatever it is.
Rooms were clean and tidy if not a little dated. Thought charging $6 for a bath bomb was a bit rich considering the RRP of the room was $335 - surely that's the kind of luxury that should be included at that price point.
We didn't use our dinner voucher so have no idea what it's like. Went to Perricoota Station Packing Shed for dinner an it was great . Try it if you're in the area.

Room Tip: Don't pay for the suite room just get the normal bush view spa room.

We are pleased that you found our property nice. We appreciate your comments and we addressing the mirror on the ceiling in our Presidential Rooms, they are to be shortly fitted with a sheer drop to give an even more grand feel and few other refurbs to compliment. We hope next time you have a chance to use all of our Facilities as we do serve a beautiful meal too, look forward to seeing you.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved looking out over the bush from the spacious room. Spacious room and very clean. Bed large & comfortable. Grounds well cared for, pools great and atmosphere of whole resort was total relaxation, so much so that other guests were happy to have a chat with other travellers. Enjoyed the meal in the restaurant and found the choice of breakfast totally adequate. So much fresh fruit, cereal, etc to choose from and if one did not fancy that, a lovely cooked breakfast to satisfy the heartiest appetite. Staff in all areas were extremely polite and efficient and most obliging. Would stay at the Madison again and would be happy to suggest it would be a lovely 'indulgence' for say, a (fairly) new Mum who I am sure could do with a relaxing massage, facial and the works! Just the thing for a little get-away when 'Bub' is old enough to be left with the Grandies.

Room Tip: Would suggest older guests request a ground floor room, which we had, as it is obviously easier than...

Spacious room with a lovely bush view. Though sparsely furnished ( a coffee table would be good), it was very clean and had a lovely feel. The bed was very comfortable too. There was a problem with television reception in our room ( it cut out several times during our stay) and the promised wifi did not work in our room either, but was very good in the reception area of the hotel. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with an attractive pool area. We enjoyed the roman baths and sauna, and also used the spa in our room but did find it - and those in our adjoining rooms - rather noisy. The restaurant is also very pleasant, overlooking the pool area and landscaped grounds. Food at the restaurant was good, both breakfast and dinner, well presented, tasty and generous serves. We enjoyed a walk through the bushland behind the hotel down to the Murray River.

Room Tip: If you want wifi in your room ask for a room close to reception

We are delighted that you enjoyed your time with us. Our apologies regarding the television over thos couple of days, having some technichal difficulties which thankfully were resolved. We are also under-way in resolving the Wifi issue, so that all rooms will be able to receive a strong signal. We are lucky here to have such beautiful views, not only amongst the Resort facilities but the magnificent Red Gum Forrest in which the Rooms face. Thank you very much for your comments, we look forward to you visiting us again.

Loved the stay and the view from the spa was fantastic. Staff were exceptional, rooms spacious, clean and tidy. Sitting in the spa sipping champagne was a wonderful experience. The pool and bar area were splendid and the food we had was beautifully presented and very well prepared. Everyone who was in the dining area was happy so we weren't the only ones enjoying our stay.

We bought one of those scoopon vouchers and got 2 nights for $299. We had a spa room with a fire place. I did think the rooms were nice and the spa over looked the bush. One morning as I sat in the spa I was watching a small wallaby hopping around so that was nice. The meals where only just ok, the breakfast I thought was very poor not a great variety but did the job. The place is on the main road so you do get road noise and if you want one of the better rooms you need to use the stairs which isn’t so great when raining and the spa and restaurant are across the parking lot. The spa treatments I thought where expensive for the facility they have to offer to look at the picture it looks nicer then what it is. For a 2 ½ hour treatment cost us $280 each ,for a not such great treatment. The tranquil pool and spa are in the walkway so if you’re sitting in either of them people are walking pass all the time to the restaurant or pool area. I never saw any one using them during my stay. Lots of people where using the pool area drinking cocktails so that had a bit of a good vibe about it. The staff where all nice, I would live this 4 stars I would imagine lovers would love the spa room , but just watch out there is a bike track in that bush and as we found out you could be sitting in the bath and people going riding pass.
