“Only if you have to!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

From the street this looked an inviting property. The receptionist should not be in hospitality/touris, oh dear did he want me to go away. I know it is a three star property however the room was terrible and while clean it needed a refurbish. We had to put the mattress on the floor as the bed was so soft and old. No service, no smile, no need to go there! There must be nicer places to stay in Goulburn, it wasn't even cheap or inexpensive.

Room Tip: I wouldn't think there are any 'good rooms'!

We travelled up to Sydney and stayed one night here. We didn't want to spend a fortune on a room and this was good enough for what we wanted. The first impresion was that the receptionist would rather be somewhere else as he was not in the friendliest of moods. There was a terrible smell outside in the carpark, not sure what it was. The room was very small but the bed was comfortable. We thought that being close to the train station we would be up all night with noise from the railway but rather it was the humming of the air conditioners on our floor. Not a bad room but certainly could do with a fresh coat of paint.

Not a plush motel but good for a nights rest on the way to Sydney. Have stayed here twice now and although the first time was spent with a noisy aircon, this time we booked the family room and it was much better. Rooms are a little dated but for the price you can't really complain.

Room Tip: Pay the extra money and go for the family room, the double you couldn't swing a cat in and are o...

We stayed here one night. For the price we paid - $84.00 a night for a double, it was more than adequate. The decor is dated and there is a slight lean to the room but all in all it is clean and comfortable and what to expect for the price. We had no problem with noise. The TV worked fine (bit small but still watchable) and had a lot of channels, it had coffee/tea facilities and all the lights/power points worked no problem.

The one thing that was very good about this motel was that the shower was fantastic!!!! hot water, good strong pressure - absolutely delightful after a long day of driving. Yes I would stay here again as a stopover.

On a personal note, the next day after popping into the tourist info centre and picking up a pamphlet on Goulburn, I was super surprised and delighted to learn that the terrace building that houses Alpine Heritage Motel once belonged to my 3xgreat uncle - Charles Rogers and was part of his Grand Arcade - Mates&Co. Wished I'd taken more notice of the actual building now.

We made an overnight stop in Goulburn, en route on our journey north. We made the booking online a week beforehand and paid good money for the room, but considering it is high season, I guess it was moderately priced. Reception was kind enough to make arrangements for our 2am arrival and parking was plentiful. As we were towing a trailer, this was an important consideration for us. The room itself was small with the double bed and a wardrobe taking out most available space. Facilities included a bar fridge, DVD player, microwave and a flat screen TV that is only slightly larger than my iPad! The bed linen and towels are well-worn and washed out but they were clean. The best thing about our stay was the shower - it pumped out a steady stream of hot water and the shower rose was adjustable. Bliss! I would recommend this place if you're looking to lay your head down for a few hours.

We stayed there as a half way stop from Melbourne only because it was close to town and a reasonable price. The room was small but ok with a fridge and microwave. Bathroom ok but tiles painted to cover the miss matched ones. It is old but clean and probably need some refurbishment to update.
