“Very interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

Hey guys, we've been to this RFDS-Base on our "Australia for 6 month trip" and it was great. You get a good overview what the RFDS does and can learn a lot about it's history.

“What the RFDS does - A Must See Visitor Centre!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

We visited the Bruce Langford Visitor Centre at the RFDS on 6th May ’13 and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Alex, our guide, was informative, enthusiastic and clearly very proud of what this amazing organisation does each and every day. For the price of $7.00 each we saw behind the scenes of the RFDS and gained a real insight into the wide range of services provided to the people of outback Australia, as well as learning about the history of the service.
My tip would be to purchase all your “take home” holiday gifts from their gift shop and help the service raise much needed funds. You never know who will need their help next -the RFDS helps locals AND travellers.

We visited on the 28/4/13, very impressed by the level of expertise and professionalism shown by the facility and the tour guide. The communications room - impressive, the plane hanger- well explained and looks to be well organised. The museum was informative and well displayed. The merchandise for sale was good as well, overall very impressed. Thank you for a service to Australians, a donation well worth giving to!!!!!

“Interesting view of an outstanding organisation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

The Royal Flying Doctor Service is an Australian icon, which provides a marvellous service not only to the people of the Outback but increasingly to travellers to remote areas. The museum and guided tour of the Base were well worth the visit and it was very interesting to see and hear from a very committed volunteer of the extensive work and services which RFDS provides and to hear that emergency evacuations are now only a small part of their operations and of the clinics which they conduct to provide basic medical services to remote communities, which is now their main work. It was a pleasure to visit the Base and to support such a great and indispensable organisation with a donation and some purchases from the shop.

Thank you for taking the time to visit the RFDS Bruce Langford Visitor Centre at Broken Hill and giving us the opportunity to explain the services provided by the Flying Doctor to people in rural and remote Australia. The South Eastern Section is one of the four operating sections that together form the first, largest and most comprehesive aeromedical organisation in the world, something we are very proud to communicate to visitors. The team at Broken Hill are pleased you enjoyed your visit to our facility and thank you for your positive remarks about the service. Once again thank you for your support of a donation and purchases that help to continue or invaluable work.
