4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2011

Arrived and was immediately welcomed and shown arround. The owners are loverly. This building has a huge history dating back to 1888. It is located on one of the main streets with lots of shops and places to eat in walking distance. The room was clean and tidy. It was one large room with a double bed and two singles. The Bathroom/ toilets are shared for the guests. They were very clean and tidy. The free tea and coffee in the dinning room was great and the cake that was provided to the guests was loverly. We were given lots of information on the area and places to see. We were here for one night but would come and stay for longer. So much to see and do.

What a great experience & a great place to stay. Mandy looked after our group so well, she made our stay memorable. Fresh cake every day . . . breakfast in a lovely dining room where you can meet and mingle with other travellers. If you don't want to dine out, you can prepare a meal in the kitchen.. but make sure you include a Wednesday in your stay, Mandy makes the best roast for $15.00. I can recommend this as the place to stay if you visit Broken Hill. Jennifer

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2010

I stayed at the Grand Guest House in March this year 2010. I travelled from Sydney on the XPT, arriving at Broken Hill Station the Grand was only a 5 minute walk and right in the heart of town, there is onsite parking if you are arriving by car. My room was comfortable, clean and quiet with a TV and my bed had a feather dooner; breakfast is included in the very reasonable rate. There is a lovely breakfast room and a delightful guest lounge room if you want to read or meet other guests. Heather the Host, put on a roast dinner with all the trimmings and a fantastic trifle one of the nights I was there, it was so nice to meet other travellers and also to meet quite a few of the locals who live and work in Broken Hill. Great country hospitality at its best! I would recommend a stay at the Grand if you are planning a trip to Broken Hill. [--] I organised some sightseeing trips while I was in Broken Hill, the tour bus picked me up right outside the door of the Grand Guest House and dropped me off at the end of the day.
