Armidale was in fine form last weekend for the Day on the Green and the Whitebull Hotel did not disappoint. The place was packed and I arrived foolishly with no reservation, not a problem said the efficient maître d' “can I suggest you take your drinks to the upstairs terrace order your breads and we’ll call you when your table is ready”.
We barely waited half and hour and a table in the sumptuous dining room was available. Entrees hit the table within 20 minutes and the oysters are as good as any we’ve had on the coast. The mains that followed included a juicy steak and mushroom tart (for the vego) both were delicious. The pear tartan for dessert was accompanied by a great vanilla bean ice-cream. All in all a great meal, but the service is what you’d go back for again. Congratulations
