“Great service, lovely people but the rooms let them down abit.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

The people were lovely, went out of their way, great food and service, however I felt the rooms and carpark let them down. Carpark has no security and is outside over the road from a club. No foxtel in the rooms just sports channels. Cannot get movies. Bathroom old style.

Dear Elly,

Thank you so much for your feedback from your recent stay at the hotel. I am so pleased to hear that you found our country hospitality friendly and enjoyed the food during your stay.

The hotel car park is covered by security cameras and overnight patrols to monitor activity in the area, albeit discretely.

The hotel offers 8 FOXTEL channels which include 4 of the sports channels.

In regards to your comments regarding the hotel we are in the process of putting together a property improvement plan to enhance the hotel product.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Albury in the near future.

Regards

Kirsty

While the central location is very good, the hotel is very dated and in need of refurbishment. We had a very sick child so we decided the best option was to order room service, neither of the 2 phones in our room worked so my husband went down to the Resturant to order our meal. Our order took an hour to arrive, it was cold and missing a meal. The employee who brought our meal made it quite clear that it was not her job and she was not responsible for fixing it, she said 'Well did you order it??' It was on the docket!!! And she wanted us to sign the docket even though we had not receive all the items!! Their was no apologies for the missing meal, the slowness of service or the broken phones!!!

Dear Karen,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback from your recent stay at the hotel. It was disappointing to read that you did not receive the level of service the hotel usually prides itself on. The service that you received is not the norm and this has been addressed with the staff that were working that evening.

We have also investigated the phones that are in the room that you stayed in to ensure that this issue does not occur again.

In regards to your comments regarding the hotel looking dated, we are in the process of putting together a property improvement plan to enhance the hotel product.

We hope that you allow us the opportunity in the future to show you the true level of service that Rydges Albury prides itself on.

Regards

Kirsty

We just stayed two nights at the Rydges Albury for a work conference. Absolutely beautiful stay Received friendly and timely service on check-in(Receptionist Roman) despite the hotel being fully booked, with my booking all organised (also received a discount on accommodation for being a Rydges member and took advantage of half price wireless Internet). The room was clean and service at reception was great. Receptionist Roman was lovely gave us great service. would definitely recommend to others. Thank you Rydges for making my stay comfortable. From John25

Stayed one night for business. Hotel is really showing it's age now and could do with a re-furb. Having said that, bed was comfortable and room was clean and generous in size. Attention needed to hot water system/plumbing - the tap ran for a good 5 - 7 minutes before it became hot. Staff are friendly and breakfast was good.

We stopped on Sunday night, good size rooms and comfortable. Some parts of the hotel are showing there age. Due to the lack of customers, bar and restaurant is close on Sunday night which gives that empty feeling when you arrive.

Thanks for your review Frank and sorry that you had an empty feeling when you arrived for your recent stay. Yes, Sunday evenings our Restaurant and Bar is closed as the hotel is a little quieter than other days of the week but that is no reason why your arrival experience should not be as great as any other day of the week.

We will look into ways to increase our already warm welcome and the hotel atmosphere, no matter what day of the week it is.

Cheers

I stay at Rydges regularly and find it a very comfortable, safe hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated with crisp white linens on the beds. My only criticism is the bathrooms - I have found in each of the rooms the bathrooms could do with some close attention as they are aging.

Room Tip: Join the priority club it is worth well if you travel regularly.

Wendy, thanks for your tip to other travellers regarding joining our Priority Guest Rewards program, it is definately a great program to join as it is free and you receive so many benefits.

You will be pleased to hear that we are currently planning the "facelift" necessary to enhance our bathrooms in the upcoming months and once this is completed it will compliment the rooms.

Thanks again Wendy

Cheers
