“1 night was more than enough”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

I stayed one night in December 2012 and that was enough for me. I was very dissapointed with the motel room. The pictures on their web site look far nicer than the actual room. The deco is so terribly dated. Floral blue bedspread and who knows when it was laundered. Blue very old fashioned blanket. Sheets were crisp and clean. Arch ways and very daggy tired furniture. Basically an ugly room! How they could charge $95 per night is beyond me. Way over charging for what they offer. In their favour the room did appear to be clean and tidy but what an old fashion ugly decor. The motel could easily modernize by doing what others do. A doona with under flat sheet and an over flat sheet in white high thread count would make the room more appealing. Please update your furniture too.
A week later I spent a night at the Best Western Wollongong and paid $110 and wow a gorgeous 1 bedroom apartment completely up-to-date. A pleasure to stay there instead of a depressing stay in Paddlesteamer Albury.

We have stayed in so many albury motels nothing beats this one for the price.

After a long drive from canberra we decided to stay in albury. I rang the motel to check for vacancies. Lucky there was one. When we opened to the door we were pleasantly surprised. The room was large, ample space to move around. They had put air con on...we were delighted. Beds comfortable, shower great pressure...bathroom decent size.

I only have two small issues....no microwave and carparking difficult. I am disabled and hubby had to park away from the room. Suggestion to number carparks to rooms.

All in all a pleasant stay and we will defintely be back.

Stopped at Albury overnight on our way from Sydney to Melbourne. To be honest, for that price we expected something significantly worse. In fact, the motel is on the main road, but all rooms face opposite side and no traffic noise heard. Nice 10 mins walk to the town centre to all restaurants and shopping. Beautiful park across the road... And "mighty" Murray river is just 200m from the motel.

One more point of difference... We booked in advance, but we were charged on departure only.

We stayed here for one night in a room with a queen and a single. Room was clean, tidy and a good size although a little dated. The kitchenette and microwave were a nice touch, especially when it came to heat the babies milk and wash his bottles. The bathroom was a good size and clean. The location was brilliant, just 2 mins drive from the Hume Highway. Perfect hotel for those splitting the journey from Melbourne to Sydney. The staff were very polite, helpful and friendly. Would stay here again if we did the same journey. :-)

located about a 10 min walk from central albury and the commecial club on the main road into town. The rooms are comfortable and clean some have a table and chairs.
the beds are comfortabel and clean and do the job.
Stayed in many hotel /motels in albury and price is does not mean a beautiful accomodation.
I usually chase the cheaper accomodation with good comfort because some up market motels are no better they just charge more. This is well priced on special thru the booking agencies such as shown on this web site.Should be placed on the main enquiry for Albury motels and rated accordingly. yes can recommend at the right price wont disappoint mid range seekers.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Our room, 327, was very big, with a queen and a single bed, very long luggage shelf, large built in desk, narrow built in wardrobe, a small table and 2 chairs, a kitchenette, and a bathroom. The kitchenette had a sink, small fridge, a kettle, toaster, sandwich press, coffee mugs, glasses and 1 teaspoon. Sachets of tea, coffee and sugar were supplemented by a 250 ml carton of milk given on arrival. The bathroom had a shower, toilet and single sink with a small shelf. Soap, shampoo, conditioner and a shower cap were provided. The room had 2 pillows for each bed and a spare blanket (stored in the base of the room service “hutch”.) The room had a small, flat screen TV easily viewed from the queen bed. The beds and pillows were very firm, but comfortable.
The room, though very simple and old fashioned in décor, was very clean and well maintained and had an air conditioner. Our room was very quiet.
The “Paddlesteamer” is “U-shaped” with 2 storeys. Our room was on the second floor, on the reception side arm of the “U”. Because we arrived late (10pm) there was no parking near our room. We parked in the ample car park at the side rear of the hotel. If you have large luggage or don’t want to use stairs, pre-book a room at the rear of the hotel on the ground floor, near the car park.
The hotel is the kind with the room doors opening onto an outside covered corridor. There is a small pool at the front (hours 7am to 10pm). It looked very inviting. There is a very convenient service station next door to the hotel, open late, with a limited selection of groceries available. We bought a litre of “Connoisseur” ice cream for $10 (yum!) which we ate by sharing the 1 teaspoon! If you think you’ll need them, bring your own plates, bowls and cutlery.
The hotel is about 200metres around the corner from the main shopping street in Albury.
We would stay at the hotel again. For $100 per night the room was reasonable value, being very big and comfortable, although basic.

Reception staff were very helpful & friendly. Room was dated but very clean and had everything we needed.
Room service dinner was quick to arrive and tasty. Highly recommended.
