“Nice meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2014

Family run and friendly restaurant that served a nice Chinese meal. Unlike other local restaurants this one was not charging a surcharge for the holiday period.

“WORST RESTAURANT EVER!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

Honestly this was not only the worst Chinese food I've ever had but the worst food PERIOD that I've ever had. Terrible service too. Ordered a set menu, first two courses take 15 min, then a 30min wait till the mains.

The mains were child size portions..
Half a plate of cold fried rice..
"Ice Cream Sundae" = Scoop of vanilla ice cream
"Oh sorry we're sold out of the coffee that comes with your meal."

Ask to not be charged for the coffee which is part of the 56$,
"Okay fine we only charge you $54 instead."

Really terrible owners who bullied us into paying for the worst meal I've ever had in my life.

PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!

“Better than Ming Gardens”

More authentic chinese food than Ming Gardens but nothing out of the ordinary. Good for those missing chinese food.

“good10days”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

The food was O K flavour wise but had a very bad experience. The waitress brought my son the wrong meal then rushed back out after he had started eating it and gave it to someone else. We all did not know which way to look.

“Absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in NZ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

We ate there twice. We are Chinese from Hong Kong. We know chinese food. They have the most amazing dishes. However menu was in Chinese posted on the window. Life crayfish, prepared several ways. Fresh watercress grown wild in nearby Mirror Lake. Fresh blue cod. Every thing was super well prepared. I agree that many tourist buses carrying Chinese tourist were there. They only ate the tourist menu. Some local Chinese were there. They ordered the specials and the owner was very attentive.
