“Out of this World. Great day out even in bad weather.”
Sept 2012 (Start of Spring in NZ): We were debating whether to do the Milford or Doubtful Sound. In the end we decided to go with the Doubtful Sound, thought to be a bit better and more exclusive..and it was. Landscape was breathtaking, tour people were helpful (we went on real journeys from Queenstown) and even though there was rain, snow and sun and some point throughout the day, this added to the suspense and dramatic landscape that New Zealand/Fjordland has to offer. Highly recommended. Hinter: Make sure you get a good night sleep night before- its a long day!
"Getting to Doubtful Sound is an adventure in itself. With no direct road access, the only way you can to get to Doubtful Sound is by a cruise across Lake Manapouri and a coach trip over Wilmot Pass. This isolation makes the fiord a very special place, a place only those in the know get to see."
