“Great value of price, very good room and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2011

Very friendly helpful staff, thoughtful on the details and well informed about the area.
The room was very tidy, warm and clean. The beds had a great mattresses(very inviting to sleep). Lovely view to the lake from the room! there is complementary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk on the rooms. The bathroom is complete, the bathtub was a bit small for my partner but good for me.
The hotel is in a great spot of Te Anau, small walk to the main town through the lake front.
Good range of food in the hotel restaurant too with good prices as well.

Room Tip: ask for a nice lake view room, others have a view to the gardens, still pretty but not as stunning a...

Nice room which was spotlessly clean and had a lakeview which was a bonus. Our heater had been switched on to warm the room which was very much appreciated. Will stay here again as it was really good value.

We stayed 2 nights in a room that had a little lake view, great wee spot, had excellent service from staff, they have no elevator and they kindly carried up my suitcase, room good size and appeared very clean. If you have hip problems it might pay to ask if they have a room with walk in shower as the shower was over the bath and quite a high step. We had good a good sleep it was quiet and relaxing. We would pick this hotel again .......

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view room

We booked in at the same time as a coach but the delay was minimal and the reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was large and clean with a comfortable bed. The buffet dinner was good and the hotel was surprisingly quiet. A bit out of the way but then Te Anau isn't that big a town. There was an internet desk below the stairs but we would have welcomed WiFi as we travel with our own laptop to keep in touch with family while we are away from home.

Our room was clean but very small. Our heater didn't work and when we arrived it was cold and raining. We were able to use a blow heater, curtains need updating. quite a distance from the main street to walk especially in rain and cold weather. Staff were friendly.

The standard room we were stayng at had a few downsides. Dirty carpert, very small and uncomfortable bouble bed, however there is a single bed available in the room just in case you and your partner can't somehow get enough space in the bed you share. I was not impressed with the mold around our bath tub . Also this place is a bit of a walk from the town centre but yet I found it quite noisy as its located next to the farly busy road. The staff however was very helpful and friendly.
