On a cold Monday night we walked through Te Anau, looking for a place to eat.
Several restaurants were closed or did not look very inviting, so when we passed Bailiez Cafe and Bar in the Luxmore Hotel and saw quite a few people there and fire burning in the open fire place, we walked in.
We both ordered the Venison, after all we were in Southland, where the are hunted, and sold at the local butcher!
We were not disappointed, good size meal, lovely cooked meat with scrumptious berry sauce, sweet kumera, vegetables and salad.
Nice bottle of red, and all for a reasonable price, and cheerful service and surroundings
