The lodge is build in a residential neighborhood about 5 minutes outside of downtown Queenstown. It is built on a very, very steep hill that is not pleasant to walk up and down every day, but this would not stay me from staying there. The rooms are very nice (probably an 8/10). The food that is including in your stay (breakfast, afternoon tea, dessert, canapes) are VERY average. We actually skipped out on many because the food in town was so great.
Service was good, but the knowledge of the area by some of the staff was very, very low. We were surprised how little some of the staff knew about the area.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, just thought it was a bit overrated compared to other places in New Zealand we stayed.
