This place was a huge disappointment. Having skied in the US and Europe we were excited to get to ski in the Southern Hemisphere. They have only 4 lifts, a handful of beginners run on the slush and ice and lots of pretty difficult blue and black runs. My kids who have skied a lot before pretty much hated it.
The runs are very steep, the bottom is slushy and icy and some other parts too you are skiing on brown snow avoiding the rocks and grass.
They make snow all the time but get very little real snow which is why you are skiing on slush at the bottom and avoiding grass in other places.
And to cap it all they charge you $90 for a one day lift pass for the four lifts!!!!
Apparently this is one of the best places to ski in New Zealand. Our friends skied at another resort in the North Island and got to ski for 30mins over the whole week. I guess we will head to Japan next time!!!
