“Good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2014

The room was very spacious. We were 5 adults and 1 child. The motel has a modern feel. Very good location, 5 min-10 walk to the city. AC/heaters were available in all rooms even in the kitchen area. Bad thing we could say is the shower, water would be all over the place after you take a shower. And there was no milk provided which should be basic for a motel/hotel.

A short walk from the town centre, good exercise to walk off that delicious fergburger. The place was tidy and the staff friendly. She was very nice and even took time to split the Queen bed into two singles and make them up for us. Our appartment had a nice view over Queenstown from the balcony. We found the prices to be very reasonable and competitive.

The only negative I have is water kept leaking out from the shower and all over the bathroom floor which is more of a design flaw than the motels fault.

Great location as we could walk into town (approximately a 5 minute walk). We had a large flat screen tv and the bathroom was large - we had a spa bath with a separate shower. The only thing that let the room down was that it did not have a king bed. A very modern room. We would definitely stay again. We were lucky to get a discount on our room only booking the day before our stay.

Modern motel complex. Stayed in 2bdrm unit each room with own ensuite. Spacious lounge and well appointed kitchen. 2nd bdrm has narrow single beds but option of a 2nd Queen bed in lounge. Great hosts, lovely complex, safe bike parking around the back, perfect location just a few minutes walk to town.
Trip to Glenorchy on clear day is a must. GYC cafe well deserved awards!

The views from this motel are breathtaking and I woke up every morning and just thought wow. The owner is very helpful and altho it is quite a steep hill back from town, you can easily walk it. There are washing factilites, including washing line. The room was perfect with huge balconys, modern exterior of room. I was very sad to leave and would highly recommend to anyone staying in Queenstown.

The modern look and views from this motel will draw you in as you drive into Queenstown. The staff is very nice and helpful.

But beware of the small rooms on the backside of the motel. Though extremely functional and clean, they have pencil thin walls and if you have noisy neighbors as we did, better have some sleep meds and turn up the fans. The large suites with the views I trust are better and the view and layout of those rooms are excellent as we got to take a look, but I imagine the walls are still paper thin and noise transference is likely.

For what its worth - as most places, depends on the neighbors!

Room Tip: Avoid the backside rooms on ground floor.

We stayed in a small studio for a quick overnight stay on our way through Queenstown to Te Anau for the Kepler Track. The small studio suited our needs for our brief one night stay but may not be ideal for longer stays as it is very small and compact. The small studio we stayed in had no views and was tucked around the back of the motel but was clean and tidy and had all we needed for the few hours we were actually there. The bed was comfortable and there was just enough room to stack our packs in the corner and still be able to manouvere around the bed. We arrived before 10am and were lucky enough for the owner to allow us to put our bags in the room while we went out for a wander into town (15 mins walk with a big hill in between) as the room hadn't been cleaned yet. Friendly host and would recommend this place for a cheap, brief stay if that's what you're looking for.
