“Amazing place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

We stayed at The Dairy for six nights in July. From our sincere welcome to our reluctant goodbye we had an amazing stay. Paul and Matt are superb hosts, you are made to feel completely at ease and looked after. The rooms are very comfortable, the food is delicious, the afternoon tea is the best we have ever seen. But what makes the hotel amazing is Paul and Matt's genuine concern about providing the best experience for their lucky guests.

I can honestly say we have never been to a place where we felt like the most important guests there and were treated like old friends. Matt and Paul are extraordinary hosts, gracious , helpful, never far away but never actually there and so happy to help. The food was superb, Matt is a great cook. Mulled wine and afternoon tea is just what you want in front of the fireplace each afternoon. We had a great room with plenty of space overlooking the Remarkables - I think this was a superior room. The other guests were very social on this occasion - which is not something we are used to and absolutely enjoyed. We only wish we could have stayed on longer but we will most definitely be back. Thanks for great memories.

Room Tip: Take the package with the superior room, remember to take bathers for the outdoor spa that everyone...

Its my last night at the Dairy and I am looking at my calendar to see when I can return. From the moment you walk in the door you immediately take a breath and relax. Matt and Paul are the most welcoming and professional hosts you could wish to meet with incredible attention to detail, they have created the most perfect haven for you to find adventure or get some serious relaxation.

I can highly recommend the eggs benedict Matt style, its a unique dish and ridiculously delicious, plus spend time in the hot tub if you can and then sit by the fire with a G&T whilst you figure out where to eat.

If you visit Queenstown this is most certainly the place to stay because its without a doubt one of the best little gems you will ever hope to find!!

We are currently at The Dairy and enjoying our stay immensely. We are so glad we decided to spend a little extra to try this hotel that others seemed to love. The attention to detail and quality is something very special and has transformed our brief holiday from merely relaxing to something memorable. Sitting here in front of the fire with a delicious afternoon tea, contemplating which excellent restaurant to dine at this evening, it's hard to think of going back to the daily grind. We'd far rather just move in. Thank you Paul and Matt.

Room Tip: Views of the mountains are stunning. Choose a room on the city centre side if you can.

I agree with all the recent reviews and have simply run out of words to best describe The Dairy. From the moment you enter on your first day, you will feel welcome and quietly confident that you've found a hidden gem. There is nothing to fault except that all you want to do is stay in the cloud-like beds, sit on the beautiful leather couches in front of the fire with the homemade afternoon teas or a glass of wine! So if you feel like being a bear for a few days in winter, The Dairy is the place to hibernate and luxuriate. But if you need action, The Dairy is perfectly positioned for the daily escape to any activities on the list. Both Matt and Paul are most gracious hosts and look after their guests with quietude and professionalism. I shall be recommending to all my friends to stay and experience The Dairy.

We loved this perfect hotel. It really is;
the location - so close to town, skiing, biking, Gondala
the breakfast and afternoon tea- Amazingly delicious and homemade by Matt everyday
the room - comfortable bed, good size room, wonderful view of mountains and all things you need like tea selection, coffee, lush toiletries, bath and shower, adaptor, everything thought of and if its not there Matt and Paul will get it for you.
the public areas- warm and inviting lounge with a log fire great for chilling and chatting, a cosy small T.V. room and a lovely new hot tub over looking mountains as well as ski equipment holder and communal seating in breakfast room.
the hosts- Matt and Paul were fantastic, friendly and have all the info on everything you need to know in Queenstown and beyond.
the other stuff- they have bikes to use, there is parking, it is very small hotel, no garden but outdoor seating for the summer, only 2 rooms have balconies, the cost is high but you can get discounts for longer stays and different seasons and its definitely worth the price.

We paid for 3 nights and ended up staying for an extra night as we loved it so much, very hard to leave!!! Matt and Paul make the place homely but with luxuries. PERFECT!!!!

Def better for couples- it is a romantic hotel i would say.

Mum and I stayed at The Dairy for three nights and to say we fell in love with the place is an understatement. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the lovely Matt and Paul, we felt like we were at home and didn't want to leave! Quite a quandary to be in when you're in the adventure capital, but not a bad predicament to be in. The rooms were fabulous, the beds were unbelievably comfortable, the bathrooms were a great size, clean and everything we could have wanted was right at our fingertips. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding, with a massive selection of fresh fruits, croissants and your option of a cooked breakfast if you could fit it in! Every afternoon, afternoon tea is available, again with a great selection of baked goods including scones, slice and everything in between - amazing. Evenings in the living room with the fireplace were so relaxing, it was hard to tear ourselves away :)

I haven't even mentioned the location and views - so close to everything in town and views of the Remarkables from some of the rooms, and the spa, make this place even more magical.

Love, love, loved everything about The Dairy and would recommend staying here in a heartbeat.
