“Great Location and good room size!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

We had the pleasure of staying at the Crowne Plaza from the 12th till the 18th of may. Our stay was wonderful! We stayed in a suite on level 6. The room was the perfect size for us although the bathroom is very small in comparison to the bedroom and living room. The views are breath taking as the crowne is just across the road from the lake. The location is perfect and is a minutes walk from the town and close to the attractions as well. The staff were friendly and helpful! The buffet breakfast was great as well and it even had a juicer for fresh juice.

If we come back to queenstown we wouldnt think of staying anywhere else.

Although we did'nt have the pleasure of staying at the Crowne Plaza this trip we did have dinner at the Restaurant for my Birthday. Our waiter Peter was delightful and the meal was superb but the highlight was Peter and two other waiters coming to my table with a little Birthday cake and they were singing like the three tenors, well done guys if we come back to Queenstown we we definitely stay at Crowne Plaza. Our son and his two little boys have booked in for the next school holidays

YOu cannot choose any other hotel than this in Queenstown. Room view was spectacular to the mountains and lake. Beds were extremely comfortable but room service menu could be much better and quality could also be improved.
Breakfast was great the best thing was that they had a blender available for you to use and mix your own juice / smoothies. Every staff member were attentive, smiling and very welcoming.

Room Tip: high as posible with lake view

I stayed at this hotel for three nights with my wife whilst on our honeymoon. We essentially used it as a base to visit Fiordland National Park and Westlands National Park. The hotel's location is amazing and I would definitely recommend upgrading to a lake view. The view in the morning of the sun rising over the mountains and lake is breathtaking. I would also recommend taking advantage of the $59 upgrade which includes free valet parking, wireless connection for multiple devices and buffet breakfast for two. The breakfast is amazing with a wide assortment of breads, hot and cold food, including fruit. You have a choice of teas, coffees, lattes and cappuccinos and even could make your own fruit smoothie. The rooms are a good size, and are maintained well. The staff are friendly and responsive.

Room Tip: Take advantage of the $59 upgrade.

We had planned to spend two nights here so we could have a full day exploring Queenstown, but a delayed flight from home caused us to lose that extra day. While at the airport in the US, I called the Crowne Plaza to explain the situation and they were gracious and competent and all was well when we arrived days later. We checked in as soon as the plane arrived and were somewhat early for regular room availability. But, as members of the hotel's 'frequent stayer' plan, i.e., the InterContinental Hotel Group, we were given a room immediately, while fellow travelers had to wait an hour or more. Our room was on the top floor overlooking the harbor and was fully acceptable, clean, spacious, complete. Each question we asked of the staff, either the concierge or front desk, was answered fully and happily. We asked about a dinner reservation that evening and the concierge went away for a while and came back with the news that the place he had recommended to us just wasn't available for some reason, but he could get us a reservation at a terrific new place just a ten minute walk from the hotel. We did and we enjoyed that immensely. We wanted to visit a hard to find NZ yarn shop and, once again, the staff found it for us. The location of this hotel simply can't be beat! A few minute walk to the gardens and harbor and a few minutes walk to the busy center of the town. We felt truly lucky to have chosen the Crowne Plaza for our visit.

Room Tip: Try for the top floor overlooking the town and harbor

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in late April. We would definitely stay here again. The building its self is quite plain when you arrive out the front. Reception area is small but the staff were very friendly and helped us out with a few requests. The bar area has a modern gas open fire with lounges offering views of the lake, very comfortable and relaxing area. Happy hour between 5-6 pm, cocktails were $5. Breakfast was included, with ample selection. Many different varieties of herbal teas. You could make your own fresh juice as well. We were on the 4th floor. Our bed was so snuggly and warm. Perfect sleep for both of us. Very clean bathroom and room. Very close to all the shops and directly across from the lake. Park your hire car out the front and it will be valet parked for $15 per night. The room rate was $180 inc breakfast, very good value for this hotel. Queenstown is just stunning and only 3 hours from Sydney. Will will be back for sure with our children. Loved Queenstown.
