“I don't want to leave.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2014

We have a lakefront view on the forth floor. King pillow top bed. Unbelievable views. Truly breathtaking and surreal! This is our third stay here. The first one was crap. Really dreadful room, a few days later we came back and requested something better which the staff obliged us with and gave us an amazing ground floor room overlooking the gardens, but the room we have this time is 5 stars. Best room I've ever stayed in. The meals are always delightful and the staff are wonderful and friendly. Very very happy here!

Room Tip: Ask for a king size lakefront view room. Not on the ground floor

Copthorne hotels located in Queenstown has a good location.
Its lake facing , 10 mins walk from main center , amongst the first ones from the entry points,

The hotel has no air conditioning.. Which is a common fact for most of the hotels in Queenstown..what u have is a table fan and can get more on request especially for the afternoons

Food wise its good enough.
The courteous hotel staff helps you plan locate book and adventure activity u wish for in this land of adventure sports.

I do recommend for the stay and also use its parking facility.

The room was ok, nothing amazing. Clean but tired. The food was overpriced for what it was and the restaurant itself is in need of a bit of a make over. Great location though! No parking when we were there, which meant bringing large cases up from a couple of streets over. Probably wouldn't stay here again as I feel you'd get better value from a motel.

Thanks for your comments we appreciate your feed back. We are about to go through an upgrade of the Restaurant . We generally have plenty of parking available but at this time of year it is at a premium and unfortunately we dont have enough for all 240 rooms, please accept my apologies for this. Thanks again for your time and comments.

This was supposed to be a four star hotel. Ok so we had a lake view: through some tall pine trees towards the golf course at the back of the hotel. To access the room we had to go down a long corridor to a separate lift which was creaking with age as the hotel is split level in different wings. The room was comfortable but the food was pretty average. We had to pay extra for wifi, parking, and credit card or foreign debit card suffered surcharges. Frankly the motels are better.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, we appreciate the time and effort, the hotel is set out on a large footprint that allows easy access to the gardens and grounds and we appreciate that it can be a little confusing to get to the rooms.

Worst hotel on our entire visit to New Zealand. Only thing that was okay was proximity to town. We were put as far away as possible on a low floor facing inward when we paid a premium rate. Signage in hotel is horrible at best. Try finding the guest laundry. Oh and knobs were missing there. You have to pre-book the spa and then it is temperature controlled by hotel. We thought we were going to burn ourselves and left 5 minutes in to our 45 minutes. Staff is also pretentious, especially concerning since this was the least "luxury" hotel of our entire trip. Do not recommend at all.

To say I am shocked at the good reports is an understatement. We have been in a camper van for a week on our honeymoon and decided to treat ourselves to a hotel on NYE. We paid a lot of money so was expecting a nice hotel, we were badly mistaken.

We checked in and first thing we were told was there was no parking. So we had to drive around for 15 minutes trying to find parking.

We get to our room and try to log on to wi fi, only to realize that it is $25 for our stay. The hostel three doors down is free

Then when I went to have a shower I find hair on the shower mat. Obviously cleanliness is an issue here

As it's our honeymoon we request a late check out, no problem as long as you pay $15 an hour. Don't bother as there is no chance for a sleep in as the cleaning staff are banging and roaring from 9am.

Oh and the icing on the cake, our double room we paid for is two singles pushed together... Happy honeymoon.... not

We spend two nights at this hotel. It was a wonderful experience for us. The location is so strategic, all the places of attraction for us are within walking distance. We really have a great time here and the staff are also very friendly.
We will surely come to stay here again.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the lake will be more scenic.
