“Flight to Milford Sound”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Wow what an amazing experience, the flight with Peter to Milford Sound was unforgettable, with the most amazing scenery, in fact the flight was the highlight, exceeding even the trip on the Sound.

“If you don't, you're missing out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013 via mobile

Cannot recommend this highly enough, the business is presented very well and the friendliness and knowledge of the pilots is fantastic. Flew with Peter who took us on a different flight path home to show us more of what this amazing landscape has to offer. Also got a short guided walk between the airport and the cruise terminal. Would not return to queenstown without doing this again. Thanks to all the staff, especially Peter and Gareth

“The only way to see Doubtful Sound!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

What a fantastic trip - we flew with Air Wakatipu from Queenstown to Manapouri, meeting up with a land-based trip (across Lake Manapouri, the underground power station, a cruise on Doubtful Sound, then back in reverse order to the airport again). The flights are absolutely spectacular, with amazing scenery that simply isn't apparent from the ground. What you see in the space of around an hour in the air is far far more than you'd ever get to see from the ground. The experience with Air Wakatipu was very good; they are informal and friendly in their approach but highly professional when it comes to safety and related issues. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Air Wakatipu if you have a day to spend doing some high-flying sightseeing from Queenstown.

Thanks for your review! The Doubtful Fly-Cruise-Fly is a spectacular trip, with a much longer cruise than our Milford Fly-Cruise-Fly. The flight is also much less weather dependant than the Milford Sound flight.

Cheers,
Gareth

“High Roller Entry to the Magnificent Milford Sound”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

If there is a way to go Milford Sound, there is only one way.. Flying with the experienced pilot/guide like Gareth, spoiled in the breath taking views of the Southern Alps, in your private plane! We were flying through the Glaciers, felt like touching the peak and saw the entry of ocean to the sounds in this 40 mins (one way) scenic fly. Such a life experience and it is definitely a must do when you are in Queenstown! To be honest, comparing to the time you save, the views you see, the feeling like the king in the air, it is totally worthy to ditch the ridiculous 5 hours drive from QT to there. and what is more? Air Wakatipu offers the best price when I compared with other companies..definitely go with it!
