“Majestic views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

I love this course, having played here a few times I never take the views for granted, it's a challenging course and if you're not up for a walk you better grab a cart as it is very hilly and demanding, the course has 4 par 5's and 4 par 3's, my favorites are the 4th and the 10th.

“Pleasant course”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

The course was pleasant, a bit rough down the fairways. I caddied for my partner and took photographs around the course, as the views were spectacular. It was nice being right by Lake Wakatipu.

“One of the best courses I have played on”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2014

What better way to take advantage of the beautiful natural scenery than to play on queenstowns course?

The course is well laid out and many of the tees frame the scenery so well that its almost distracting from the game. I was glad of something to take my mind off my terrible golf though!

“great track, water taxi from town.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Although $NZD165 for visitors, (plus $65 for rental clubs), beautiful views, reasonable shape course. Take the Water Taxi from downtown Queenstown, & walk 500 yards to the Pro Shop.
Gorgeous views of Lake Wakatipu from all over the course.
greens in good shape.

“Breathtaking Views, but Pricey and Rough around the Edges”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

This is one of the most beautiful golf courses I have ever played. It's set on a peninsula within Lake Wakatipu, just across the way from Queenstown. From there you have amazing views of the surrounding mountains and the striking turquoise water of the lake. The course itself is akin to a municipal course in the U.S. -- adequately, but not beautifully maintained. Plenty of brown patches in the fairways and an aging clubhouse. Wind is tremendous on the course, due to the setting at the end of a peninsula -- keep your shots low and straight, and bring an extra sleeve of balls just in case. I paid NZ$80 for 9 holes (they let me play an extra 4 free due to the convenient location of the 13th green next to the clubhouse) and rented clubs for another NZ$25. Worth it, but a bit pricey for what you get -- even considering the high prices of Queenstown. They don't have twilight fees -- consider playing at the nearby Millbrook golf course after 3pm, where prices are similar to Queenstown Golf Club but the course is world class (site of the NZ open in 2014).
