“Nice hotel in queenstown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

We stayed at this hotel during our trip to Queenstown. The hotel is fairly new. The rooms that we got were big with a small kitchen and living/tv room. We liked the restaurant where we had our breakfast because choices were good and the view was beautiful! The only drawback is that the hotel is far from the town proper. It is easy though to take a speedboat to the town during the day.

Stayed 3 nights before leaving NZ.
Needed a unit with washing facilities and the kitchen though no view from the room since those dates were pretty full, we stayed comfortable, warm.

But it was almost too dry...the gas fireplace had a strange remote, had no idea to change the degree settings from F to C or even how to turn it on and off.
No instructions for it in the room, I always managed to sort it out by pressing one or two out of a couple buttons in turns or whatever it worked, but that was definitely not simple to use.

When we checked in to this hotel/apartment, it was so complicated and we had to drive up and down and up....they even didn't seem to know where we could check in.
We were almost sent down again from Hilton hotel but when we told them that guys down told us we check in up there, the porter went inside and checked...and finally we could check in.

But overall our stay was good, we could park our car 98% of the time even though it looked so full, this apartment has secured parking area.

One thing that annoyed us a lot was when we try to get contact to the hotel directly from outside of the hotel, the phone gets connected to somewhere else. You can't get in touch with them.
We were around so we could go in to the hotel to ask things we wanted to know before we made a booking but is that the only way to get straight answer?
Because we checked on the internet, we called and talked some lady overseas(??) and those infos weren't right.

Would consider to stay there again if the price is descent though.

Room Tip: If need washing facilities, better to check properly. Some infos on the internet has wrong infos.

Yes this hotel is not inside Queenstown and I wouldn't stay here without a car, but it is a short 10 minute drive to the centre of Queenstown, the setting is beautiful - directly situated next to the lake, magnificent views.
The room is laid out like a mini-suite. It is tastefully decorated and very comfortable, not spacious but not cramped either. The little kitchenette had everything we needed for preparing light meals, and when we discovered the wine glasses were not matching (1 white 1 red) we had matching ones delivered within 10 minutes.
The staff were very professional and pleasant, my only comment is none that I met were local so the advice was very restricted to the usual Queenstown tourist attractions. (Bungy jumping, TS Earnslaw, etc).

The rooms are quite nice and clean. Very modern. Amenities in the room are all products used by Hilton. Very nice and relaxing views outside of the hotel overlooking the lake. Be prepared that Kawarau is a hotel MANAGED by Hilton. It's right next to the Hilton, and you can't really access facilities from the Hilton hotel without having to pay. However, there is a shuttle bus that goes into town regularly (about 15 minutes drive) and is complimentary.

You have to pay for wifi, it is not free. It is only free if you go to the hotel next door (Hilton) and sit in the lobby. Service was average. They do have an info desk at the lobby if you'd like to book for activities/tours. Staff were friendly, and I did have a special request for in-room dining and they were very happy to help, so thank you!

I would stay here again although it is a bit far from town, but it's quite nice and peaceful. Just don't expect it to be Hilton standards with the overall hotel experience. Go to Hilton if that's what you're after.

This is a funky place outside of Queenstown. I had been in Queenstown two nights previously and this was a good escape without being too far away from the city. Great price in the off season for a spacious room and king sized bed. Service was exceptional and staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The meals offered in room are a tad small if you are a big eater.

Great value for money hotel managed by Hilton (located in Kawarau village and synced and connected with the Hilton. Does not compromise on service or standards. Gorgeous rooms with comfy beds, full kitchen, tiled bathroom... Was perfect for what we want and needed without having to go so far as the Hilton as we stay in hotels for the experience and not for the 'extras' per se so worked out great; Being in Frankton was also a bonus, Queenstown central can be hectic and this made the experience all the more enjoyable and being right under the Remarkable' mountain range is fantastic
