I booked the Hilton Queenstown as part of a surprise 30th birthday gift for my fiancé. We stayed in one of the residence suites, on arrival we were upgraded to a two bedroom suite over looking spectacular views of the lake. The service was excellent, the amenities superb. It may be a small drive out of Queenstown but they provide a free shuttle service into town and there is also access to a water taxi. I would stay here again, and recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway!

Three years ago not long after it opened, we stayed in a Relaxation Room, which are on the ground floor in the block fronting the lake.
Recently we stayed for 4 nights in a King Lakeview de luxe room.
This room, 1404, has a restricted view of the lake, between the two front hotel buildings. The room was very large, well laid out with good storage, huge bathroom with rain shower and a lounge area with a fireplace.
On our final night although the duvet cover was flat which gave the appearance of the bed being made, when the duvet was pulled back the sheets were in disarray. Yes, we could have phoned housekeeping but at 10.15pm on a cold night you just wanted to get into bed!
Whilst all the staff were friendly and helpful, the overall service at the complex was not up to what you would expect at a 5 star 'resort' complex. It was a long holiday weekend and The Counter deli was understocked, the Asian restaurant was closed, some basic menu choices at the Stacks pub and the Grill were not available and the bar was late opening. Room service dinner was very good, however the room service continental breakfast was not up to standard.
I noticed there were no feedback forms in the room, which restricted the chance to give some constructive feedback. And, of course, no free wifi in the rooms - this really annoys me when small hotels, motels can offer it, yet large chains find it impossible to do so.
We will stay here again as the location is perfect for a Queenstown visit, next time booking a lakeside room and spending more time out and about rather than within the complex.

Room Tip: Most of the Lakeview rooms, but not all, face north west so you get the sun, especially in the after...

We had high expectations for Hilton and our King Lake Wakatipu suite which we booked for our special celebrations. We were dismayed at the offensive smell seeping from the plumbing and front of the vanity unit being broken and falling off in the bathroom. Greg at the reception put us into another suite the next day and declared the first suit uninhabitable. The Hotel layout is confusing with connecting corridors on various levels to the rooms, only two of the numerous restaurants were open, infrequent complimentary shuttle service and water taxi to Queenstown and for a five star establishment you had to ask for news papers, wine glasses and bottle openers for your room. The two Kiwi staff with their friendly helpful manner working on the concierge desk were great filling in the gaps left by the reception staff.

I loved this hotel when I stayed here for 1 week. We were upgraded to a suite with a view of the lake, and waking up to that view everyday was fantastic. The living room's fireplace was cozy and lovely when the mornings were a little chilly. I loved getting muffins and coffee each morning at the Lake Counter and sitting by the water or the fireplace, it was a perfect start to the day! Loved the room! The location was not very close to town, it took about 15 minutes by shuttle to get there. That being said, the free hotel shuttle was convenient, and the city bus system was simple to use and cheaper than taking taxis or the water taxi. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was the one night when we had room service; it was expensive, and it just wasn't very good. All in all though, this was a romantic, relaxing, and tranquil experience. I would definitely recommend it, and stay there myself again!

We recently stayed as a family in a 2 bedroom apartment in the Hilton complex Queenstown. It was fabulous from the moment we arrived. Great facilities, friendly staff, lovely views. Comfortable beds etc.
