“Eforea Spa @ Hilton. An absolute must do during your stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012

Being a spa situated at a Hilton property your expectation is high so to have those expectations exceeded is truly outstanding. The Spa Manager Elizabeth welcomed me to the spa making feel immediately at ease with her professional manner and genuinely caring personality. After filling out the necessary paperwork (which was checked again verbally prior to the treatment starting) I was shown the luxurious and spacious spa facilties. I highly recomnmend you arrive early and take a swim in the lap pool and/or spa, and take a shower before your massage or treatment. Without going into details and spoiling the experience it is truly a sensory delight. I like a deep tissue massage and this was executed expertly to the level I requested. The initial intense therepudic deep tissue work transistioning into relaxtion enhanced with enchanting smells and music. Yes, I had to be woken at the end! I have had the good fortune of experiencing many day spas around the world and without doubt tmy experience with Elizabeth at Eforea Spa at Hilton is the best.

Room Tip: ein a new hotel all the rooms are exquisite with everything necessary for a relaxing visit.

The Hilton Queenstown is a great hotel, the rooms are lovely we stayed in a suite and were not disappointed. The staff were really attentive and super friendly. I really really wanted to give this hotel five stars but we ordered room service one night and it was awful, and they serviced the rooms really late. We were out all day on a tour and got back at around 5pm and our room hadn't been serviced we had a dinner to attend so needed to get ready for that but had to ring and order towels as the ones we had used that morning were still damp. I would still recommend this hotel though as it is new they may have just been teething problems.

Room Tip: Lakeside room views are absolutely gorgeous.

Dear Catznz

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback regarding your recent stay at Hilton Queenstown.
I was so pleased to see you enjoyed your room. I do apologise the servicing of your room was conducted so late in the day. This has been an issue we are working on and our aim is to have all rooms serviced by 3pm in the future.
We are also working on ensuring our room service delivers consistantly high quality food and service 100% of the time.
We understand that it is important for guests to receive a memorable experience at the hotel and your feedback is much appreciated.

I look forward to welcoming you back to the Hilton when you are next visiting Queenstown.

Kind regards

This is a great new hotel in Queenstown. Get's the sun all day. It's handy to have a car to get around the area anyway, but there are reasonable bus / water taxi options into town. Lacks free Wi-Fi but understand from the hotel that this is coming.

The hotel is the opposite direction from town, which means a shuttle or water taxi to town, taking 10 or 15 minutes. So if you like to walk out the door to a multitude of choice, then this is not the right spot. However the set up is fantastic with comfortable beds, great black out curtains and no neighbour noise issues. The facilities are lovely too - they possibly struggle to keep the hotel staffed as there did seem to be delays and confusion around some requests. You can walk out the door and head left or right on a lovely lakeside boulevard taking in the stunning scenery. Definitely book lake view and if you can stretch it, take a relaxation suite with outdoor jacuzzi. Overall though i'd highly reccommend the hotel, for a romantic getaway, and perfect for a conference.

Room Tip: 4th and 5th floor lake view, or ground floor relaxation suite would be my pick

We travelled to Queenstown for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was my first time in the town so I was very excited and had high expectations. Having done lots of research on Trip Advisor we chose the Hilton Hotel due to its position on the lake and the fact that it isn't in the hustle and bustle of the central Queenstown area. As we had a rental car it wasn't a problem to travel into Queenstown, only 10 to 15 minutes drive and the water taxi is available if required, although at $15 per person return it's not cheap. In the end we didn't need to use it.
We found the location of the hotel easily from the airport although there could be more signage to direct you to the reception area of the Hilton. There are two hotels on the site, the other being "managed by Hilton". From the moment we parked our car in the reception car park we were impressed with the service. The reception car park area was a little chaotic when we first drove in as there were several taxis and other cars parked where they shouldn't have been but the concierge staff handled everything very well and we were ushered in and our luggage unloaded in seconds. Reception service was impeccable and a friendly concierge took us to our room. Impressively our luggage was already in our beautiful room when we arrived. One important point to note with Hilton hotels is that they require at check in a credit card authorization of $200 per night of your stay, (even if you have pre paid your accomodation as we had), which can be a bit costly depending on how many nights you're staying so be prepared for that. We had a Relaxation Room which was on the lake front and had a gas fireplace and a 2 person spa pool on the patio as well as a large shower & 2 person bath, really lovely room! Great bed, full length mirror and iron and good quality ironing board. The breakfasts at the Whakatipu Bar and Grill are great. We only had one lunch in the restaurant and that was very enjoyable. I would highly recommend the valet parking at $10 per day as it saves the hassle of finding road side parking and walking back to the hotel. Room service was very reasonably priced and there was a great range of food available for room service, including breakfasts. We had dinner from room service on one night and it was a great meal. I would not hesitate to stay at the Hilton Queenstown again, it would be my first choice in Queenstown.

Dear friskie40

It was lovely to read you enjoyed your 25th wedding anniversary at the Hilton Queenstown.
Thank you for sharing your kind comments.

A relaxation room would have been perfect for you to celebrate this wonderful occassion. I am pleased you enjoyed our Wakatipu Grill restaurant. We are very fortunate to have the stunning views to add to the atmosphere.
Thank you again and I look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel to celebrate many more anniversaries to come.

We had our wedding night at the Hilton in March 2012 and would highly recommend to anyone who is considering accomadation in Queenstown.
Before our wedding we looked at many places for our wedding night and the following night. The Hilton was the only Hotel that was very accomadating to the fact that my now husband, may have needed to check in early at 12noon in stead of 3pm on our wedding day. Not only were the staff fantastic in replying to my emails regarding possible check in, they were very friendly and professional.
When we arrived after our wedding reception we were greeted by friendly staff who congradulated us on our wedding. When we arrived to our room, there was not only a complimenary bottle of wine, but they had used little metalic red hearts to make a massive heart on our bed! It was simply perfect!!!!!! I couldnt have invisaged anyhing better, and we hadnt even asked them to do that! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud :) We enjoyed the bed so much we actually pulled the sheets off to see what make and model it was so we could buy one. The room was amazing, from the bathroom to the view to the fire place in the slate wall. We simply could not fault the Hilton :) And the fact that there was a day spa in the Hilton, so we could have a hour long massage the next day, wihtout actaully needing to leave the Hilton made it even better. Everything about the Hilton exceeded our expectations, from the reception staff, to the conceige, to the room service, to the rooms themselves, we highly recommend to anyone considering the Hitlon for accomadation in Queenstown.
