“climbing at its best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

A BRILLIANT experience that was excellent from the start. Neal was awesome! As a first time rock climber I couldn't have asked for a better introduction. The group was kept small with a total of 4 which allowed for us to take our time where necessary and meant that we could work on building our individual skills. Neal was great at talking us through things so that now we can start to learn how to do it on our own eventually. Such a big adrenaline rush! It has left me wanting more. A huuuuge thumbs up!! :D

“Scary stuff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Great fun but if you are afraid of heights or don't want to take responsibility for yourself, then this may not be for you. One of our group pulled out for those reasons but the wife and I really enjoyed it.

“Best thing I've done in my travels.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

I recently took a full day climbing course with Neil at Climb Queenstown.

It was honestly one of the most fulfilling and spiritual experiences of my life.

We went to Wye Creek - with some of the most amazing views of lake tikitapu (sic?) and The Remarkables - and spent a full day learning rope safety and climbing techniques. I learnt more in that full day than in all of my indoor climbing gym sessions put together.

As a novice, I was surprised at the amount of climbing that I was able to comfortably do - I think it was because of the great level of teaching I received that day.

The sense of achievement I felt at the end of the day was so immense. I felt really proud of what I'd done and it greatly improved my confidence, both in climbing and life in general. I figure that if I can overcome any fear of heights and my rock-climbing ability and top out on a face bigger than anything I've climbed before, I can take that self-confidence into other aspects of my life too.

I'm not a hippy by any means, but I really buzzed off of how in touch with the environment I was. Gym climbing is awesome, but the sense of climbing on real rock with a stunning back drop and a great teacher to motivate you and make you feel safe is just amazing.

I enjoyed the full day so much that I went back for another half day, just me and Neil, where I ended up climbing a 100ft face! I am a total beginner and had only been indoor climbing around 8 2hr long sessions, and a handful of times indoor bouldering, and feel this to be an immense achievement in such a short space of time.

I really do recommend this activity, and this company, to anyone that wishes to visit Queenstown.

For sure it is the best thing I've done in the 3months I've been traveling around Australia and New Zealand.

Thanks Neil and thanks Climbing Queenstown!!

xxx

“Awesome! Never thought I could do that!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

I had a brilliant time when I went out with Climbing Queenstown. I'm a beginner climber, I had been on a climbing wall in a gym only once before and had never tried climbing proper rock faces before. The guide Jenny was brilliant, she talked me through it all, helping me to find new foot and hand holds encouraging me all the time. The sense of achievement was huge! I never thought that I would be able to climb the stuff these guys had me climbing with no experience! It was epic! An absolute must do while in Queenstown!

“One of the best activities I did in Queenstown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012 via mobile

Thanks to Neil who took me out climbing last week. It rounded off my four days in Queenstown perfectly. Climbed 7 routes and reminded myself that real rock is where it's at! Being a relatively frequent indoor climber back home in the UK I found Neil's instruction and coaching perfectly matched to my ability whilst still being able to have a good chat. Perfect weather, stunning scenery, I can't recommend this company or Neil any more highly! Thank you!
