“Always recommend this place to people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

By far one of my favourite restaurants in Queenstown. The food is great but its the atmosphere here that makes this place stand out. Staff are always attentive and friendly. They are always there with a smile and give encouragement to whoever orders a "SAKE BOMB"
Awesome place to enjoy some warm sake.

“One night in Daruma”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013 via mobile

Walked in to a welcoming vibrant little restaurant. Immediate service and given menus by the fun and enthusiastic waitstaff. We order out meals and chat away with our drinks. In about 15-20 minutes they show up one by one, the taste was great, portions small as with all authentic Japanese plates. We each enjoyed what we had ordered, including the mochi, an unusual rice dish.

“SAKE BOMB!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

These Japanese cats really know how to give you a great start to your night out. Grab some of the exotic entree dishes, split a massive bottle of sake between friends and get involved in a twattingly good time!

“Sake Bombs!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

We didn't have the sake bombs but people did make a loud fuss when they ordered it! it was part of the experience of this place. It is small and pokey but had an authentic sake bar feel akin to what you would find in Japan (minus the sake bombs!) The yakitori sticks were really good! tasty great for eating with Sake!

“AMAZING !!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

This has got to be the coolest place to eat in Queenstown!! So much fun, great atmosphere and the food is incredible. Asahi on tap was also excellent! If you're after a meal the options on the back page of the menu are your best bet as the rest are more small tasting serves. The regularly changing specials are excellent as well. We had to go twice and can't wait to go back next time we're in Queenstown!!
