“Great value B & B in lovely location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2010

This is a great place to stay if you are looking at visiting Dunedin or the Otago Peninsula. It is in a lovely spot with a 15 minute walk to a hill with fantastic views over the Otago harbour and peninsula. It is in a quiet residential area about two - three miles from Dunedin. There is a pub 5 minutes walk away from City View that serves good evening meals. We stayed two nights and visited the albatross colony and penguin reserve on the peninsula whilst there, as well as Dunedin. Sue gave us tips and suggestions and booked our visit to see the penguins when we arrived. A really nice place and excellent value for money.

Lovely, clean, quiet b and b with excellent view across to the city of Dunedin. Well situated for trips to Otago peninsula. Pleasant, comfortable bedroom and although it is not ensuite the bathroom is only a couple of steps away. Pleasant owners provided lovely continental breakfast.

An excellent out of town Bed & Breakfast choice. If you enjoy healthy exercise among Dunedin's hills this is the place for you. There's even a bus stop nearby if you don't have your own transport.Sue & Robert look after the guests very well with the accompaniment of a rolling European travel picture sequence video on the lounge computer screen.Yes indeed your hosts at Cityview are as well travelled as the guests!

Great hosts Sue & Rob, wonderful sense of humour and very knowledgeable about the area. Lovely homely atmosphere, close to town, amazing view of Dunedin, especially at night. Wish I could have stayed more than 2 nights.

Robert & Sue were friendly and patient with our questions about Dunedin tourist activities. You can tell they are proud of their city and enjoy sharing their experiences with visitors. We are from midwest US where weather is predictable for days, and they patiently explained how island weather is different. The house is clean and well decorated (Sue also has an antique shop in town) and the room was comfortable with a bathroom right across the hall. Our stay was too brief - we would have enjoyed staying several more days. Also, they have a computer they were nice enough to let us use to check emails. Breakfast was light (just cereal and toast) but we ejoyed Sue's company each morning. Robert had a nice map he lent us and was happy to help us find and tell us if other visitors had enjoyed the various Dunedin attractions.
