“The motel fit our needs.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2012

We were placed on the ground level. The unit was compact, but had all that we needed. The parking was a little tight, but fortunately there weren't too many people staying at the time. The unit was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

When we arrived we walked into a freezing cold room as the door was wide open, it did take us a while to warm the room up and when we did it was pleasant. The bed was comfy and it was close to town. I had to go to the office a couple of times and each time i felt like i was more of a hassle for the lady than a customer. Over all it was a quick visit and the room was lovely, once it was warmed up.

My wife and I regularly travel to Christchurch to visit our daughter who is studying there.
We have used several accommodation providers and now prefer to stay here because of the location (between friends and our daughter) and the quality of the accommodation which we always find clean, economical and comfortable, being next door to a service station it is easy to obtain all the little bits we need and is also just up the road from the large Northlands Mall. The hosts are always very friendly and helpful.

My family and I stayed here as it was in the area we needed for visiting family and friends, the unit was great, lots of room and very warm and clean, Morag and Dave were very helpful with brochures and discount vouchers for our family to be able to do entertaining activities, i would highly recommend this place to everyone, was brilliant, and thanks soo much for the hospitality, we hope to return very soon.

I searched internet for suitable motel which had a bath (as I have arthritis). Also, on wotif this place was advertised with inclusions of: "excellent & sunny quiet room. Enjoy a drink on the balcony & watch the world go by" We had a downstairs small unit, no outside area, no parking outside. NO BATH. When I went back to the office the guy there didn't really care at all & did not offer any alternative. That is why I am writing this review. The stairs to the upstairs rooms was right outside our room so it was noisy with people going up and down. This property is right next door to a 24hr petrol station. The curtains in the unit were thin & didn't reach the floor, so lights came into the room during the night. The price on Wotif was actually higher than the "rackrate" if I'd walked in off the street. I don't think this is good enough for trusting travellers/bookers.

We were surprised by the clean, spacious rooms after staying in some shockers on our budget holiday!
The prices are very reasonable and Dave and Morag were very friendly and helpful. Also, its only about 10 minutes from the airport, which is great.

I stayed at this motel while visiting grandchildren nearby. Dave & Morag were so helpful & friendly. They even shared their lunch with me.
I had no vehicle & so spent a lot of time at the motel. It was lovely.
I would recommend this place to everyone.
